  1. Anyone every mix these 2 together? I use etex but I wish it was harder able to withstand the teeth and hooks. West marine cures hard as a rock and I was thinking about mixing the 2 but the west marine is so expensive I dnt want to waste it tryin to figure out the right combo. So has anyone tried this or even know if it will work?

Lurehead.. How does that mix come out? No yellowing? Harder etex? Still have the etex look
  3. Dosent the dev turn yellow quick in the sun? I use etex but wish it was harder. Dosent turn yellow at all just gets punctured by hooks and teeth.

I use etex alot of curing time take about 2 day to fully harden and then takes another coat. But theres nothing out there that looks bettter. Jus wish it was harder hooks and teeth punctuer my lures especially if I dnt wait the full 2 days to cure
  5. What kind of wood are you using? I use red cedar it doesnt need sealer dosent soak up moisture but I use the same thing as I use as a clearcoat jus not so think. Envirotex
  6. Nice looking lure. Glad you got them to work right.
  7. Ok Im using bits of what everyone has input I think its gonna look awsome. On a bigger spook type lure Just behind the head of lure where the peck fin would be Im drilling a hole frm left side through to rt and putin a 3/8" steel bearing in and Im capping the holes with 2- .45cal case ends so you will ba able to read this when its all done and clear coated. Jus imagine the new Rapala lures with 45s instead of 22s. Thanks everyone for your help. Still not the thud knock Im lookn for though... Lol
  8. Yes Ray but from the back to the front. I did a 7mm glass rattle sideways like you are saying I liked the sound but the bearing Im using is to big to put side to side not enuff room for the bearing to get enuff momentum to hit the side and make a knock. I will try to make a bigger lure tomorrow
  9. To the glass rattles but there. Is soo much vibration given off. Cant wait to see this in action this weekend... Still want the hard knock sound instead of the click .. IMO the low frequency one knocker seems to work 2-3xs better than the high frequency rattle well thats what Ive noticed and a couple other guys have noticed too.
  10. Thanks bob, I just turned a lure a little thicker than usual (my lures similar to a spook about 4") and after adding lead and balancing and all that I drilled from the azz end forward half way through big enuff for a 5/16"S/S ball bearing to fit screwd a little screw inside the hole left it in there then got a 5/16"wood dowel and cut off 1" and glued it in the hole about 1" more or less. Sound is similar to
  11. I get them from lurepartsonline. The 7mm jig glass and the jig skirt rattles. Ive even installed them sideways inside the lure to get more rattle, its better but not good enuff. I tried the bullet casing used a 38special thats what fit inside the lure but not the sound Im looking for. I figured the only way to get what I want is to turn the lure then cut it in half long ways make a big chamber big enuff for a 3/8" bearing to bounce around in. And while I have it open run a S/S wire through it. Then glue it back together. But thats too much just for a rattle, Im gonna try something else
  12. Does anyone know how to get wood lure to rattle like a plastic super spook? Ive used glass rattles and worm jigs but Nothing sounds like a super spook
