  1. i made a slab spoon mold out of wood with my router and a 1/4 inch straight bit just drawing the slab spoon on one side of a block of wood setting the depth of the bit to half the thickness of the slab spoon and follow the lines run some chalk around the edge of the slab spoon mold i just cut and press the second block of wood together in a vice and draw a line across the two wood blocks front and back on the top side. pull it apart draw the now matching copy and router out that the same way,put the blocks back together in the vice and drill a hole into the mold so you can fill it taper the top so the lead flows well into the mold, now add wire across the slab area, and match the mold halfs together in the vice squeeze tightly so the wire will press into the wood pour lead let it cool ,it smokes a little and the mold inside turns black but it works you can get about thirty slabs out before it cooks it and only takes about 20 min to make
  2. heres a photo red wires the hanger blue wires the main wire thru the bait
  3. heres how i do thru wire hook hanger drill hole thru bait front to back down center of lure drill 3/8 hole with forsner bit where your hooks are going to be just deep enough to go past the first hole so you can see the hole you drilled front to back measure how deep the hook hanger hole is,add 1 inch then bend a u shape wire to that size bend ends 90deg to first bend and faceing up slide main wire thru to edge of the hole put hook hanger into hole sliding main wire thru upturned ends of hanger so hanger is locked into main wire repeat as needed for the rest of the bait, epoxy the holes holding the hook hanger leaving the u shape outside the bait,it takes about a 40 seconds per hanger then just make your eye in the other end of the bait
  4. i just finished a bluegill pattern gos as white basecoat black along the back and stripe along the sides(i paint three stripes on the sides) not to heavy just so its darker for the next color, light green shot thru small mesh over the black and on the stripe also the top 2/3rds of the gills Let dry move the mesh a little and spray gold lightly over the bait leaving about a 3rd of the belly white just behind the bill of the bait(this will be painted orange) then i mix some yellow with a few drops of red to get orange (just add a drop of red at a time till it looks right) paint the lower belly orange cut out a plastic spot for the gill tab holding next to the gills( spray black ) light blue on lower 1/3 of the gills and done
  5. if you want you can buy a scrubing sponge thay has net on one side and cotton on the other with a foam sponge in the middle, and by cutting th short ends off you can slide your bait into the middle and it holds the netting tight over the bait as you spray
