bluegill pattern with a light back clear water pattern -
love the old time colors on your baits makes me remember back in the day........ -
try loc tite spray adhesive that works for me

bruce the trout look great try some folk art cinnamon thinned with reducer for your bellys that should blend with the colors of the brown trout sides(look at the brown trout bait i did in the gallery before topcoating it) yours are really close to the same colors -
I'll look up my colors and post them in the morning for you but my trout colors for a rainbow are pretty easy white base coat pearl white thru fine fine mesh netting light green back transparent pink from just about 1/2 of the gill plate to the tail just below the green(just a slight over spray of the greens lower edge) and black spots down the sides and top of the back with more spots on the upper part of the lure and less as you work down stopping 2/3 of the way down leaving the belly pearl white then lightly spraying the back and shoulders with a hint of black hope this helps theres also a pic in the photo gallery of some fish decoys i did in trout colors if you would like to see the colors

and now for the next tip.if you want a foil type scale pattern on a smooth sided bait under your paint after you spray your base coat put netting over the bait and spray it next with a silver pearl paint and let dry the scale pattern will show thru most paint but transparent paint work the best and it shines great thanks for starting this thread littleriver

this one i tryed to make a molt type pattern on the sides by using plastic wrap and dabbing the wet paint with plastic and spraying another coat after -
trying to do a walleye bait -
just showing the diff. between the lure with no top coat and this one with topcoat really makes the colors pop -
try spraying your lures with a clear acrilic finish before useing the e-tex that should seal any prob. areas ,i do this when i paint a bait that has alot of diff, colors after every few colors i spray a lite coat that way if i mess up i can wash that part off and try again and it drys fast too

you might try some of the sign shops to see if thay can cut some on the machine 20-25 per w of tape?

you can find some good baits to paint over at the local swap meets too might have to look around but i aways find a few from 10 cents to a 1.50 for some name brand baits

this is a simple brown trout pattern i painted up today -
that one going to be her best fish catcher yet bbm -
with those paint jobs why dont you just use a real gill becouse when you throw that bait your doing just that anyway great job brad -
great looking baits again,you must have a HUGE tackle box with the bait you paint i don't know if i could get rid of any... -
theres some red craw patterns on here also some green that you can change the top color of for a watermelon color

i found some at the local dollar store in the tissue wrapping area that works good on flatter baits?gold on one side silver on the other

this is my first try at a punkinseed bait (thanks bassnbrad for the help in colors) still needs a little more work but not a bad first!
