That's why I ALWAYS get a countertop convection oven. That fan makes a huge difference.
-
The only difference is the length. The loops are the same size.

Which style jig are you using? You can go to Barlow's and they list all hooks that will work with a specific mold.
-
I use a frying pan on a hot plate to preheat.

If you want to start a business I say good for you. However, your first lesson is the Government wants their cut. For every jig you sell you have to pay a 10% excise tax.
-
1. Put the weed guards on after you bake the jigs 2. Get some Teflon tubing to put over the weed guards. https://www.barlowstackle.com/Heat-resistant-Tubing--P1200.aspx

The L3052 is a stronger hook than the L570BP. Less resistant to bending.
-
Do you have a moisture filter?
-
The L3052 is a direct drop in. I use them all the time.

https://contenti.com/teflon-wire Buy the .125" wire and cut it to size.

You need a LOT more than you think. 200 cfm would be a bottom end.

Which HH mold? There's three of them. If you're talking about the smallest mold that takes the Gami 604 hooks then I've not had good luck with 570 hooks in it. Off the top of my head I can't remember which hook I finally ended up using. I may have mentioned it in the forum here.

jig Should I sand jig heads before powder painting?
LimpNoodle replied to Yak_addict_785's topic in Wire Baits
I use gate cutters to remove the sprue and while cutting give it a twist. This results in a very clean sprue cut. If you're using wire cutters then the first thing to do is get some gate cutters. I use the Hakko CHP-170 which run less than $5 a pair on Amazon. I buy five pair at a time as I go through about that many in a year. -
Truer words have never been said. Back when the law changed I was an avid waterfowl hunter. 4-5 days a week. I hunted on the Columbia River near the confluence with the Snake river. Prior to the law changing I rarely used more than a dozen shells to take a limit of ducks. We had very few wounded birds. I also helped with doing bird counts. Since the river in that area is more than a mile wide there's lots of water to cover. Even scouring the river we found few wounded birds. Then comes the change to steel shot. I shot a case of steel shot before bird season to get used to the difference. We hunted over 10-12 dozen decoys with a kill zone 20-30 yards in front of the blind. Both my hunting partner and I were very good callers. We had been using a handload that used 1 3/8 ounces of hardened #5 shot. We called the load the undertaker. We could take two limits with a box of shells or less. When steel shot was mandated we switched. We were hitting ducks in the kill zone, we could both see and hear the ducks being hit. We were using steel #2 shot. We saw dozens of ducks that were hit, hump up and fly to the middle of the river. 10 days after the season started there were rafts of wounded ducks in the middle of the river that numbered into the hundreds. The other side of the river, where the wind blew the dead ducks, smelled of death so bad you couldn't stand it. In one 100 yard stretch on that side of the river there were over 200 dead and wounded ducks found. My hunting buddy and I quit hunting waterfowl in less than two weeks. We had expended over four cases of shells, the full 20 box cases not these 10 box flats they sell today, and and taken less than 40 ducks. We were sickened by what had happened. Part of the problem was those early steel shot loads. To put it simply they sucked. But the killing power of a steel pellet is much less than a lead pellet of the same size. There's no doubt that the ban was put in place to reduce hunting. After all if you take away hunting you take away the primary reason people own guns, according to a liberal view, and that makes it easier to ban guns.

Looking for Shad Heads for In-Line Spinner
LimpNoodle replied to Chucktown Redfisher's topic in Wire Baits
Nope. You can order the mold and cast them though. -

Barlow's sells blades from Worth and Hagen's. Did Worth do away with the $1 per line charge for less than minimum quantity?

Foiling vertical lead jigs with etex and holographic nail foil
LimpNoodle replied to jcool3's topic in Wire Baits
All the die cuts I've used from WTP are plenty flexible. The thickness depends on the selected pattern. I like the 84000 and 84064 colors. Weight is almost nothing. I have to use my grain scale to notice the difference.- 35 replies

Foiling vertical lead jigs with etex and holographic nail foil
LimpNoodle replied to jcool3's topic in Wire Baits
The weight added is almost nothing. I use pre-cut shapes on tons of smaller slabs and blade baits. I don't use eTex. I powder coat and apply the decal. If I want a top coat I use Solarez, I'm going to give KBS Diamondcoat a try also. If you're looking at the retail side of the website the prices are high. On the lure manufacturers side they are much less expensive. I don't have my price list handy but pre-cut decals for slabs are around $0.01-$0.04 per piece depending on type.- 35 replies

Nice write up. If you check out www.wtp-inc.com you'll find that many of those same holo tape patterns are available in a stick on tape.- 35 replies

Check out http://www.wtp-inc.com/ Also if you plan on selling them you'll need to pay Federal Excise tax.

In my 30 years of experience pouring jigs and such.... You don't save a dime. What you do end up with is more lures.

If it's new shot I'd sell it, Shot is a lot more valuable than lead.

Barlow's is about 50 minutes from my house, which makes it "local" in the DFW area. I'm not allowed to go there without adult supervision, unless I hand over the plastic to my wife and use cash. It's REAL easy to drop $200 and walk out with a small sack. Once I've made the drive to Barlow's then Cabela's is only another few minutes down the road. I'm not allowed there without adult supervision either. My wife caught on to my primer stockpiling scheme and put an end to that.
