  1. I've had some similar experiences. The thing I had going for me was that I made more than two registration marks so I still had several others to work with. You can probably pour with the 1 mark and line it up by sight to get decent results 1, but it is going to be a lot harder to get things to match up everytime. I am not aware of any real positive information to give you other than POP is cheap and practice makes perfect. Hope someone else has an easy fix, would love to hear it.
  2. Thought it was time for a new Gravatar. This one is a little bit more me.

  3. Bob I got you and it was really funny. It was top shelf funny.
  4. Bob, That is a top shelf idea. J Lure, If you hook the guys on this forum up with a picture, I have no doubt they will point you in the right direction. Good Luck.
  5. I have the same problem. I got a small butane torch and it is great for some little touch ups after I pour to much.

    New Carvings

Very nice. What the heck did you carve these out of?
  8. Caught a 5 lber over the weekend on one of the baits I poured. Had several other good fish too. Good feeling.

  9. Thanks eric. Makes sense.
  10. Pouring in a 1 piece pop mold, what are some of the keys to getting a really good flat side? Learned the importance of not over filling last night and tried trimming the excess with an exacto knife and scissors. The results were less than stellar. Are there other ways to get a nice looking flat side or is it just really important to get it right on the pour? Thanks for all the help. Posted a pic in the gallery for reference to my question on the flat side.
  11. I think everyone was right, but like usual have to learn for myself. Going to be getting a respirator at the Home Depot before I pour more soft plastic. Sinuses are jacked.

    1st pour swimbait

A little ugly but my first stab and all in a mold that I made. Really posting to ask a question. Pouring in a 1 piece pop mold. What are some of the keys to getting a really good flat side. Learned the importance of not over filling as you can see. Is there any other ways to cut smoothly or is it just really important to get it right on the pour? Thanks for all the help. Posting from my phone so I hpe this works right.
  13. As a newbie, somethings I am interested in that I think get overlooked are the actualy making different colors of plastic, right way and time to mix/add glitter, salt, uv additives, softener, etc. Look forward to seeing the carving and custom mold making tutorials.
  14. Well I went for it last night. I'm pretty pumped up, against all odds I think it came out pretty well. With a little more practice I think I may actually be able to get it pretty close out of the plaster. I know RTV would be better, but I am just learning the mold making/plastic pouring crafts and boy is there a lot of stuff to spend money on. Not sure how well it will pour but planning on trying it out soon and will report back with the results. I think I may be addicted already.
  15. Understand what you are saying completely, but as info the fish is a baitfish that is very replaceable. Just wondering if Pop is at all feasible?
