  1. I use my injector with the nozzle removed. It's a tall thin container, and when I start using up plastisol I can push the injector a little to raise the level of the plastisol.
  2. I've found they tend to harden up if you let them sit a few days after you pour them. Right out of the mold they are softer

    Floating

I was going to say the same thing. Those float really well, even with a 5/0 hook. I wonder, are those that Silicone stuff that the floating Z-Man stuff is made of?
  4. I agree with Frank. The first company I got color from, it was very thin and took a lot of drops to get the color I wanted. Switched to Spike-It, takes less than 1/4 of the drops for the same color.
  5. I have the Del-Mart mold. It is close, but it isn't identical. The Del is a little bit thicker towards the taper on the end.
  6. Monte, are you no longer using CCM sinking additive for your sticks?
  7. That doesn't really look similar at all. That looks like a swimbait, his doesn't have a boot tail.
  8. I go a little nuts on the flake for mine, mix in some black, green, blue, gold, copper, and purple.
  9. I believe it is hagstornadobait.com not baits plural.
  10. I have never seen that bait before, but I made my own bluegill color that is very similar to that one. I was never a big fan of the smoke based bluegill colors, always thought they should be more green based. Very cool.
  11. I just lay my baits really straight on my work bench as I demold them and leave them there until the plastic smell greatly decreases. Usually takes a few days, then I bag them.
  12. Hobby Lobby carries the Alumilite RTV mold making silicone. Use a 40% off coupon because it is a bit pricey.
  13. I use vaseline between the pieces, when I separate them I take a chisel, place it along the seam away from any of the baits parts, and I give it a quick tap. Usually separates them cleanly, with the only damage being a little chisel mark.
  14. Other people seem to be letting the two part pop set up longer than I do. I usually demold and pull the two pieces apart as soon as the plaster sets, usually 20-30 minutes, then I let the two pieces dry separated. 24 hours does seem really quick for mold to show up though.
  15. Depends on how much plastic you are heating. I usually do 4oz at a time, and with that I do 30 seconds twice, then drop down to 10-15 at a time. You will definitely be better off with shorter duration between stirs.
  16. Interesting. Explains why I had one melt away when placed next to other plastic. Does anyone have any experience with MF's floating additive? Is it liquid or powder?
  17. I agree with Bill. I tried micro balloons in plastisol for the first time recently. I put a fair amount in medium plastisol(about 3/4 oz in 2 oz of plastic). It won't float a 4/0 hook, and the plastic is really weak, tears easily. Colors were really faded out too. I wasn't really happy with the results. There was a bait brand (Elaztech?) Advertising that their bait floats a hook, anyone know how?
  18. I know CCM tells you whether a color is bleeding or not on their site. Spike-it's doesn't, but they were really helpful when I emailed them, helped me find the non-bleed colors I wanted.
  19. I'm not really familiar with Resins. What brand/type do you use for yours?
  20. Very cool idea. I have Alumilite casting resin, will that work or is there a better option? Does the resin hold up to the heat well?
  21. Thanks for the write up! I may have missed I, but what kind of resin are you using? Also, do you have any pictures you could post to help show what you are doing?
  22. Hmm. I ordered the Fish Stinkem, which didn't have a picture on their site, and was surprised that it was a brown paste instead of a clearish oil. I wasn't exactly sure how to use it, so I just added the same amount of drops to hot plastic that I normally add of kickn' bass. The paste was difficult to get mixed into the plastic, and the finished bait had no noticeable scent to it. I'll have to try again with a higher concentration. Have you tried yours yet?
  23. Did you ever receive your sample? How was it? Was it an oil, or a paste?
  24. I had the same issue, Ad Block Plus was blocking the whole site from loading. If you have it installed, add an exception for TU.
  25. Do you know if their "fix" is shipping yet? I received a sample of their medium pourasol a couple of weeks ago, and with a microwave I had a lot of bubbles. Their price is good, but the bubbles were an issue for me.
