  1. Any tips on how I can paint Tiger Stripes fairly easy and uniformly? TIA
  2. Perfect, Just ordered one, man, they are nicely priced too! $3.99!
  3. I was watching a video and a guy that was painting the lure had a little stand with alligator clips attached to it so he could attach the Lure by clipping onto the points where the split rings would attach. Question... Where do I get this item? Is there a how-to on building a clamp like this? Thanks again guys
  4. Thank you guys for the replies, can't wait to get started. I want to start off just by repainting some old baits I have laying around. One in particular that my dad used to fish with religiously until he retired it because he was afraid he'd lose it and had some sentimental attachment to it. Now that he's 72 years old, I'd like to repaint it and give it back to him for his Birthday coming up new and improved.
  5. I should have googled before I posted this, sorry guys. I found that it was Createx. So, I'm on my way now to Hobby Lobby. Thanks
  6. Hey guys, I am wanting to begin learning how to custom paint my own crankbaits. I purchased an Airbrush and a Compressor and my first question is What type of paint do I use? I went to a Hobby shop yesterday and had my granddaughter with me so it was hard to keep track of her and look for the paint that I needed. I just want to know what type of paint should I buy so I can go purchase that and start doing some practicing. Thanks so much. Also, if this a question that is posted or if there is a how to that I can read, please point me in that direction if you don’t mind. Thanks again guys
  7. Excellent advice and thank you to everyone who replied. I did manage to get some successful pours (About 3 out of 5 were coming out) by ensuring my ladel was staying heated between pours and making sure I pour the lead out of the ladel and into the mold in a very FAST Motion, kind of trying to dump it in there instead of actual pouring. Where do you purchase the Drop out? Did you order it or is it found at like Lowes or Home Depot? I think I'll try Smoking my mold next and try it with the above suggestions and then try Drop out if I'm having problems still. The Design was changed? What was the design change?
  8. I wanted to try my hand at making a few Buzzbaits for the summer so I purchased the mold and equipment to do so. Obviously the mold doesn't fit under the Lee Pot so I need to use a Ladel but I have yet to have one pour successfully. I'm at wits end here. Thanks for any and all help, would LOVE to get on the water tomorrow morning with a personally built buzzbait!
  9. Smalljaw, Thank you for your reply. The Barlows route makes sense, I still wish I had a list of Mold types, Official Hook and a set of Alternate hooks I could use for my lazyness, hehe
  10. Understood, but wouldn't it be nice to have ONE Post with all of the hooks listed? Maybe even sticky the post for a user friendly thread. If I do a search on hooks I currently have to read two pages worth of threads to determine which thread is discussing the hook and mold that I'm wanting to have an alternative for. Hmmm, I'd like to be able to edit my first post so I can keep it updated. Some additions I found... For the Mustad 32786 - Gamakatsu 2014 which is an EWG hook and the Eagle Claw EL786BP
  11. I couldn't find a thread that has them listed but could we work together in creating a thread of Hook Types and what alternative hooks work as well? From what I've gathered thus far.... Mustad 32786BLN can be replaced by the Owner 5304 as well as EL111BP (By this I mean, if the mold calls for a 32786, you could opt for the Owner 5304 or the Eagle Claw EL111BP) - I haven't tried this, so if it's not true please say so here. Eagle Claw 730 can be replaced by the Owner 5317 Are there any others out there? I'd like to get an ongoing list of what we've found that works.
  12. I think that will have to be what I want to do, I think that is going to work for me. Thank you for the video, makes everything come together for me.
  13. I don't need it to spin, I just need it attached. I guess what I'm trying to find out Is if there is any tool out there where I can make that bend and twist with the blade attached as such? Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it
  14. Hey guys, I am looking for a way that I can wire in a Spinnerbait blade to a wire form. I understand there are different routes I could take to get the spinnerbait blade attached to the wire form but I am specifically looking for a way to make this work. Basically I would like to take a wire form, bend it, attach the blade and then finish the wrap so the blade is permanent to the wire form. I really appreciate your help on this. Thank you
  15. So basically, I'm just going to have to deal with some powder loss?
