  4. A quick question, my wood swimbait has a coat of CA thin glue over it as a sealing coat, I was planing to paint over the CA glue surface but it has alot of uneven spots after some light sanding because I accidently put a little too much in some places, now im wondering if i lay a coat of solarez over the glue coat to get a beter surface for painting, will the solarez still be able to bond good with the bait?

  10. Thanks guys, I like the idea of using water base paint such as the woods and water paint, because I am most likely painting in my garage and I dont have much ventilation. I also have a few questions about the woodsandwater water base paint, Can they be use to paint on basswood and urethane resins? Sorry I am really new to this. What can I use to clean the air gun with after using the water base paints? water?? what are stuff i can use to thin the water base paint if i need to?
  11. Hello guys, Im up to the point where im gonna be needing an air brush soon, so I need your help on helping me decide which is best for me. I mostly will be carving out trout swimbaits 6-12 inches and sometimes will do a blue gill or a bass, what would be an ideal air brush for me to paint the rainbow trout scheme mostly and sometimes a baby bass or a gill? Trying not to spend too much so im staying around 100-150 the most for my first air brush. Ive read some reviews on the Paasche double action, paasche talon, Iwata revolution, and Iwata Eclipse, they seem to all be good brushes but they also have mix reviews, I dont know which one of these will suite my needs to paint my baits the way I like. I like fine detail work as I find myself to be kind of almost a perfectionist, not bragging lol just the way I am. One other thing I would like to know is whats the difference between the gravity feed and the bottom bottle feed air brush?? Also the first paint that im going to be trying out will be Createx, its because I can get these locally, but I would like to know which air brush would work best with which one of the Createx paints, the Opaque, Transparent and Fluorescent? and also which of these three Createx paint would work best on wood and possibly plastic urethane resins? If you guys have any suggestions please feel free to let it out thanks!
  12. thanks for this info rayburnguy, im about to start epoxying in my screw eyes and would of never thought that this could happen, which kind of super glue you use to glue in hook hangers?
  13. which kind of egg sinkers? would the height of the egg sinker when inserted into the belly of the bait have an effect of how the bait would balance or ballast out?

  17. Nathan thanks for your reply, does the .092" have a bigger round eye or is it just the diameter of the screw thats bigger?
  18. hey guys need your help on finding some screw eyes, i ordered some .072 1.5" ss screw eyes for the joints on my 10" swimbait but the eyes are too small in my opinion to use for the joints, its good to use for the line tie or the hook hangers but not big enough for the joint sections, where can i find some .072 1.5" ss screw eyes that has the bigger eyes so i can use for the joint sections? or what is the size dimension i can ask for if i order? thanks guys
  19. Hello, im trying to repaint some huddleston deluxe and baitsmiths, are you suppose to use something to wipe and clear off the shinny coat on the bait first before you can start painting?? and can I use a clear coat to cover the paint up after im done painting? how long does it take for it to dry off??
  20. Hello all, I am new to painting/air brushing and would like to get some advice from some of you to help me in painting/repainting some soft body swim-baits I have. I haven't got anything for painting yet, only thing I have so far is a air compressor, what are all the other stuff I need? where can I find them? what are the steps and material I need to make sure the paint stays on? I have a few hudds and ragos I want to put some custom colors to it. thanks
