    Outline

Super quick thru wire for diver style
  2. Not sure why I got a double post on this can one of the admins get rid of one please
  3. So was supposed to go fishing this weekend taking old retired vets and what not... well the weather didn't play nice for a good chunk of it sooo... I found a little piece of wood in the bottom of an old guys junk drawer and got my fillet knife out since I forgot my pocket knife at home... had alot of fun another neighbor in the building came over for a beer and saw what I was doing and went and got a couple pieces of sandpaper... couple hours later we were discussing color schemes lol. It was a blast... I am amazed I didn't cut my finger up making this lol. Who needs to fish when you can hear fishing stories from the back in the day.
  4. If your that worried about natural you can do a little googleing and you will find a natural hardener for Bee's Wax can't remember the name of it... Sister uses it to make all sorts of weird stuff. When its in liquid form it would soak right into cotton thread and get hard as nails after ward... however leaving in the sunlight light for a couple hours would probably not be advised... however it is natural and cheap.
  5. Yeah Northern Scripts videos are great to watch... and if you have questions for him you can either ask on youtube or facebook
  6. bare spots after coating? basic question did you clean the lure first before you coated it? As far as bubbles after coating using a pen torch very fast over the lure to pop them... watch SolarBaits videos on youtube to get an idea how that is done.
  7. yeah second photo is missing for me as well
  8. Honestly on that one the question is are you fishing Northerns or Muskies... and what size fish... I came to the conclusion awhile ago to just strength test the wire with weights it just made sense... The size fish in my area really are not much more then 35-40lb muskie and that would be a monster so with that in mind .041 works but a big one will bend the crap out of it... Northerns here thou are like 14lb for a big one the 5-9 range is more average so .041 is plenty
  9. If you go on youtube or facebook look up Northern Scripture he has got a bunch of great ideas on inlines and would be a good source to ask about your question... also Dieter would a good one to ask as well I personally have never made double blades never really cared much for them... the one thing I do know is you want some weight to the design and make sure the blades are far enough from the Body (or big beeds) of the spinner to spin freely
  10. Pretty much the same way Salmo lures are made
  11. by the way as far as a lure turner goes for anyone that doesn't have a rotisery motor handy if you have a corded drill with a speed knob on the trigger just turn it all the way down to the lowest setting and stick an L bent peice of wire or something along these lines and leave it run on the work bench for 30 minutes or so... works great... or make a small wheel with 4-5 spots and use a bolt or something thru it to put in the chuck... i'm working on that part but im guessing that will work pretty good to...
  12. wouldn't you need a releasing agent of some sort for the epoxy?
  13. so out of curiosity did you happen to order a big can of cs coating or did you just get the little 4oz guy. the reason i ask is if you have a quart of it you could try dipping your lure instead of brushing it... also it never hurts to ask the people that make it if they have any suggestions as well since they've been selling it for a long time... and if that doesn't work out for ya you can always go get a can of automotive clear coat...that works good as well and spray it on.
  14. well the only question i guess would be did you shorten your dry time for the tissue layer over the foal? i guess what my thought was is was there still air trapped under the paper and it just worked its way out after you put the clear coat on... or the clear coat had bubbles in it when you brushed it on.....what would happen i wonder if you used an exacto knife on the bubbles very carefully and then just recoat it would it fill in the gaps seemlessly i wonder... or your bait just looks like it was swimming to close to the run off water from the local power plant lol
  15. weird, is it a two part coating? Are you putting tissue paper over foil? which way are you doing it?
  16. Griffond

    First resin baits

Is that a store bought mold or did you make the mold?
  17. I actually own a couple of those lures... there in an antique tackle box around here somewhere they actually worked pretty good for bass.
  18. not sure I can see it just fine...
  19. Thats a really neat design... how long are those?
  20. well the important part to me would be the double loop at the top... for .04 wire... if you start getting bigger then that then I would do a twist top... for what your talking you should look into bike spokes...there really tuff to bend but also really tuff for fish to bend as well... only down fall is the wire is so big most hook eyes wont go over it... you would have to rig up something else...
  21. How about something like this.... I bent this myself out of .04 stainless steal wire
  22. Ok this might sound kinda corny but my family has been using them for years and I keep one in the boat for the fun of it... what about a zebco 33 they have a low gear ratio... there are good quality ones now...
  23. Why so low of a ration Musky Glenn? Trolling rigs?
  24. So first question what kind of blades are you using? Colorado, French, Willow, Indiana?... I just recently made some small inline spinners... with different kinds of blades... the willow blades I used didn't work at all even with jerking it... the indiana and colorado blades I used work great thou... except one... not enough space from the blade to the body... couple beads fixed the issue.
