  1. Yea I was thinking Createx copper pearl would be similar, but it does appear lighter in color on their website. I figured it wouldn't be very hard to make it darker, but thought that someone might manufacture a color that is closer. Thanks, that sounds pretty easy. Thanks for the help.
  2. I saw a crankbait with a color that I have not been able to figure out how to mix. It is an extremely dark copper color. I have provided a link to the particular bait. The color I am referring to is "green copper shad. Any help on how to achieve this color is greatly appreciated. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Luck-E-Strike_Rick_Clunn_Freak_Crankbait/descpage-LSFREAK.html#multiview
  3. Mattman, What grit scotch brite pad do you use? Do you wet sand the blank with the scotch brite pad as well?
  4. Did you use a stencil for the vertical bars? That perch pattern looks fantastic!
  5. Also check out Dakota lakes tackle and watch his tutorial about making stencils. I believe he mentions what material he uses for his and it seems to work great based on his video tutorial.
  6. I believe Mylar is a popular stencil material that forms very easily when heated up with a heat gun and vacuum sealed to the lure. Type in Mylar material in google and search through the various places to buy it from. I'm not sure on the thickness, but look for something similar to the original stuff that worked for you.
  7. Do you guys only buy the matte finish or is the spring back wire with bright finish the same thing only with a bright finish?
  8. Thank you for the tip about Google translate. I did run into another problem though. I went through the whole process of registering to the website and even added some things to my shopping cart. When I got to the checkout process, it never asked for a credit card number, but gave me the option of paying at the post office when I pick it up? This really did not make any sense to me, and why it couldn't be delivered to my house, bur rather to the post office for pickup? If anybody could help me out with this that would be great.
  9. Thanks Gino. That is a pretty cool website. I might have to buy a few scatter raps and do the same to post here on TU.
  10. Has anyone ever taken the time to cut apart or disassemble Rapalas or any other type of crank bait to see how it is put together? I was watching a video yesterday about the Rapala fat rap 1, and for a split second it showed the balsa body unpainted with a plastic insert between the two balsa sides that looked to contain a weight, rattle and thru-wire system. I think it would be interestingto buy a new scatter rap and cut it apart to see what is inside, to try and figure out how they get the particular action out of the lure besides from the lip and body shape. Could open a new world of ideas.
  11. Thanks for the replies. I will have to experiment with different thicknesses to see what works for me.
  12. Has anyone found a website in English that sells these curved lips similar to the ones from that Finland website?
  13. What thickness of balsa do you guys usually buy. 1/2 in., 3/4 in, or something else?
  14. That is an awesome pattern. Do you use a stencil for that gill plate?

That is an awesome looking bait. How did you accomplish that scale pattern exactly?
  16. I paint with Createx and certain colors have different viscosity. For instance, opaque white is extremely thick and requires more thinning. Some of the fluorescent colors are much thinner out of the bottle. I thin completely by eye and always test spray on a piece of white paper to ensure that I have proper flow and not too much over spray. I use the createx 4011 flash reducer for all my paint thinning.
  17. Does anybody know where to buy the small brass hardware that goes in between the spinning head and tail portion on globe lures? It looks to be a hexagon or octagon shaped brass bead of sorts. I have also seen these on chopper top water lures. And of course it must have a hole in the middle to allow the thru-wire to pass through.
  18. Is anybody else having trouble viewing all of the pictures in the gallery? Some of the pictures load for me, but some of the larger ones are just blank spaces on the page. I have tried viewing them in two different browsers with no luck. I also have to turn my adblock off for the site to even work. Any tips would be great.
  19. Very cool idea. I would like to see a real picture of the bait though because the drawings are a little hard to picture. Do you know if the lure is in production at all?
  20. I know this might be a sensitive subject or one that has an extremely fine line, but I was wondering if I wanted to sell some of my musky baits to local bait shops to, do they need to be completely original? To be more specific, I see many musky baits that look very similar, just with different paint and design schemes. If I were to try and sell a bait similar to a zara spook, or another bait similar to a LEE LURES tail whopper, would I be breaking any laws? Or would someone be offended? Of course the answer may only be obtainable from the source, just wondering your thoughts on this. Thanks...

Where do you buy paint that has that effect?
  22. Crzyjunyer, would you mind posting a picture of your keychain? I'm have a pretty good idea of what they look like, but I am interested in the idea. Thanks...
  23. Acutally, never mind I found a website that sells it. Awesome looking baits!
  24. Solar, would you mind providing a link of someone who sells the material?
