Some color dyes may turn or discolor in the mic like pearl or watermelon and heat sensitive colors but yes it will take time to actually let it drop but it works. We have colors from the 80's still takes hours to break-up correctly and unfortunately won't fit in the mic so the old fashion way. A few years back we sent 100lbs. to be rolled into a paste to make it workable. It's either try a few different ways or trash it. Shake and Bake!

Try this, with cap tight turn them upside down on the cap for a week and they will start to release, do this over and over until you see results. Then you may be able to shake them manually. Are they pints, quarts or what size? A 2 ounce will work the same way. If they are totally dried out then cut the top off use as a paste. jeff@mf

Jeff here at M-F, I talked to the boss man last week about this subject and it has nothing to do with the plastic, it was the flo orange and you didn't ask for a refund that we recall. I remember discussing this in a meeting but he did say not to trade it because it settles out immediately. All the flo colors except number 55 do or our 4 colors and didn't see a problem with 55. I will give you a refund no questions asked tomorrow. Expect to see a credit in your account in a few days, sorry for your frustration as the guys above said like this colors a beast, I believe there's a shirt that says something of that effect. K thanks@MF, Jeff

The actual spelling of this word is all over the place , meaning spelled different..

All M-F plastisols are Phthalate free and have been since 1970, all the coloring will be Phthalate free as the old colors are phased out. Now the problem is the larger suppliers that sale to companies or that we buy from might still say that word so I can't see 100% ever in the future, more like 90%. On another note blood bank blood bags contain Phthalates from reading but the country don't care much about that. We are phasing out all 1 ounce bottles to be free of this chemical but it will take time, worm oil is all Phthalates free and has been for over 5-7 years.

Easy it's not the same, so you're offended by what. Did you get a wrong item or something? They always go south when you talk plastic. What makes you so angry, put your phone number i'll be glad to explain if you like? what makes your cost so much higher then the competition. Or is it a on way street there? I asked a question and you're offended. Thanks, Jeff
-
So your saying its a bad question or you want a war? It's a very good question, Do you cut your prices or is it a one way street? I believe my question or rationality fit right in with the topic. Not jumping in the ring with you. majic man? Thanks, Jeff Smith

I think now days in new cars i've seen real motor oil for vehicles that is purple so now it could a rainbow of motor oil colors, just like watermelon green. The watermelon I or anyone eat does not look like the watermelon fished with in most cases.

I read through this awesome post and was wondering do the guys who buy the "XYZ Brand Plastisol" at 1/2 or cheaper cost cut the finished goods prices in half or how does that work? Like is a bait that cost 10 cents with brand X, is the brand Z a nickel? Or is it a one way street? Thanks in advance... Jeff

I'm not going as far as a permanent price reduction for you to compare apples to air, this final point is to say at M-F 55 gallon drums is as cheap as or cheaper than above competition described. I'm also smart enough to not sell certain folks that are clearly going to complain that it don't bubble and something is wrong "where are my bubbles?" If new inexperienced humans need help with a price adjustment, glad to help. I assume you are happy with your plastic no joke. First word of spike it in the topic that I have heard of now I guess you use it. I have already helped a few folks and now done with this topic and logging out till next MF bash. If its a gallon you want I will match the above plastic for a short while until this clears. I got to go work, out and thanks for the lesson Frank there's zero understanding here...thanks and kind regards both of you are right and I need to go make my paycheck and check out VS after work on my own time. Anyone need a price match on small or whatever call me at above number.. can't hardly compete with giving plastic away.....
-
Thanks, Jeff $143.00 -$5.00 $138.00 divided by 5 - $27.60 per gallon NO de-air needed Make a phone call I match anyone's price for the kind folks of TU, my number is 817-281-9488 Thanks BJ OK were done talking now...................................................................................................................... I find it hard to believe at some point it is not de aired. Its pretty much industry standard. Cool beans they dont have to. The plastic I de air myself. I got several very happy customers. We do the best we can. At a price well affordable to the hand pour guys. Has been fun. I think I will indeed bow out now.. If anyone wants to take the price matching offer up. We get 119.00 per 5 no degass needed. He said he would price match I encourage you to take him up on it. See if he will price match the shipping as well. Thanks guys. OK friend, I'll sell you 5-5 for $119.00 each plus shipping. I am not giving free shipping on this deal....119.-- divided by 5 = $23.80 Buy a 55 gallon drum and its below your cost coming in at wait, wait ....Ok $22.07 per gallon, proof is in the drum. I am personally done with you and do not have to explain myself again. WE DO NOT DE AIR M-F PLASTISOL AND WOULD NOT THINK OF IT!! How much is the de air system frank? We were looking into other brands to offer but they just don't stand up to the quality, but again your happy with your product and leave it at that. This is just plain stupid bj starts this stuff everytime and I get a phone call about your unreasonable quotes, add 20.00 stabilizer to what??? Thats it bj, thatnks a bunch, good day freend

Secrete how to save money,?? Guess I'm stupid I have here 7 brands of plastic I would be imbarasted to sell and most act dif, and all yellows, smells and I guess has the cheapest of all fillers "air" I can not deair 100x55 gallon drums a month of crap but it works for you, I'm happy for you. Now off of here you guys have a good day now. Gentlemen and ladies Again it makes my day frank rod. It works fir you peace

I think you may see moisture witch may be air? as air has moisture in it. I can see how air is stirred in an open pan so maybe your adding air while cooking your plastic and makes perfect sense so that means humans or a machines are doing it I guess. It would be great to send me samples of both plastics and a jug of air from your state an add it to my jug and shake it crazy, sounds like a joke but a bottle of your finest air might help me understand more, Or you guys are right, kudos point takin. I'll say it again you on to something airless plastisol Thanks Again Frank, Jeff

Absolutely Frank it does same with drawing bubbles out of RTV off your master. I don't mind helping here or on the phone and I know when it goes to far on this forum and usually blasted by the same folks. I kinda wish O'L BJ would leave M-F out of his comparison and I can leave it at that politely. I do not piss in the wind, not even in the boat...Well hope I at least helped some without disrupting you guys thread but I know many facts about many plastisols...I even not scared to hide behind a false name. I just can't see air being the culprit at whatever price I would insist de-airing it before they ship it to any customer. Sorry for any grammar mistakes, filling orders in one hand and chiming in here with the other.. Thanks and happy day...Jeff Smith

What is air made from? Answer Dry air is primarily made up of nitrogen (78.09%) and oxygen (20.95%). The remaining 1% is made up of argon (0.93%), carbon dioxide (0.03%) and other trace gases (0.003%). Water vapour (water in its gaseous state) is also present in air in varying amounts. Pretty sure it's water folks

The softer plastic sometimes takes less heat than firmer plastic that may take more time to heat to get to the correct poring stage and be a little more patient with the heat process. I personally have cooked my super soft at 337 all day long and some at higher temps. When its hot or summer everything is already hot or warm compared to winter. The plastic you get with bubble has to be moisture of some kind or cheaper formulations, I have never seen air make M-F plastic bubble like some samples I have tried. If it was air why would it not bubble when you pour it into to a pan or heating pot? I would like an answer here_________________________Thanks I have a 5.0 formula that will take some pretty long pot life with firmer formulas and very clear so far. Sorry if typos, TU is acting up for me at this time...... And the online dick measuring contest begins.... With that being said: I'm sure the wives don't want in this cat fight.....I have more input but I'm out of here time to go show the wife my surprise package at home! Thanks, Jeff

Is Mf Super Soft Plastic Odorless Even After Heated?
jeff@mf replied to ChrisStratton's topic in Soft Plastics
By putting a cig in your mouth any brand you don't have to do anything but open the pack, I do not smoke. And paying a bit more you get what you pay for by not having to de-air or stir every single bucket to get started. And there's this thing called overhead including, taxes, electric, storage so on that's why some folks will pay 40-50 buck a gallon. In 55 gallons its around 20 bucks or so. So cig are bad all around including those electric smokes -

I pour at one point everyday now and see how test plastics, colors, glitter and mixing chemicals. It seems the mic is pretty hard on most brands but I have my go to mic and a no to go to mic that yellow and only use it making other misc projects. -
Is Mf Super Soft Plastic Odorless Even After Heated?
jeff@mf replied to ChrisStratton's topic in Soft Plastics
Yes for me if you hit a hot spot or incorrect pouring pots most of the time you can see where the over heating time is. For reasons I don't want to get into but us manufactures have to deal with what's delivered to us ands either accept it or refuse it if it don't pass inspection. If you receive finished raw material goods you can't do much with it but pour it hope for the best at that point, if for moisture and so on. Right now M-F is pouring at 137 but after this ice on the ground with 20 degree + or - a few things change again Any brand assuming there is PVC in it all will burn at one point. If you ever ran pvc pipe for electrical in ditches and used heat bands on 3/4 up to 4" and turns yellow to black you will get the same toxic smell because the pvc can only take so much heat. jeff@mf -
Is Mf Super Soft Plastic Odorless Even After Heated?
jeff@mf replied to ChrisStratton's topic in Soft Plastics
What guys may talking about for M-F if you over heat it to quickly it may bother you, on the other hand the other brands do the same. You will need some experience yourself what you call eye and nose problems using exhaust fans correctly and not just an open garage with help with every brand. Just cranking up the heat and say its burning my eyes will go with every brand. Recently we have tried the top 5 brands on this forum and all will run you away a one point. There was a couple 2-3 years ago when there was a contamination and lost some customers like ghost and so on. But you will see everyone on TU will have different onions like trying to make your wife happy all the time, impossible. Just like the bubble issue, yellowing issue and so on, to each their own. If you take one brand and have to de-air 1 gallon at a time you will be there a while, if you have to shake or stir one brand for a 1/2 hour each pour then more problems. So the best thing to do is test what's in front of you. Send me your address through M-F web site I will send you what you want to test for free then you personally will know yourself. Then try other brands either free sample or prepaid samples. Attn : Jeff and the topic on this post Just my 2 cents jeff@mf
