  1. I have come up with an idea for making a coffee scent that I'm gonna try here in the next day or so.I have also done some tinkering with making a garlic paste that I can smear on my jigs and should last a long time or at least a few cast before it comes off. The paste I'm making is pretty easy but I need to tweak it a little but the garlic scent is super potent, I don't worry about vampires in my house.
  2. Edl this isn't for everyone, I make my own plastics and I like to experiment with different things, that's what I do. I have store bought scents that smell exactly like what I made. I don't mind experimenting with different scents, I will be trying out coffee and a few others pretty soon.
  3. I just did a bunch of research on this and I actually made some garlic scent that is super strong. I got an old jelly jar and filled it with vegetable oil, then I got some garlic cloves and cut them up. I did bake the cloves at 250 degrees for about 10 minutes cause raw garlic and certain elements can produce botchulism(sp). After letting it sit in a jar for 2 weeks I got a oil that is super potent with a garlic smell, I can add it to my plastic before pouring or put some in a spray bottle and spray it on my lure at the lake.I will be trying a few other scents, craw, coffee and Anise.
  4. You gotta seal a POP mold,I either use Devcon 2Ton epoxy or Elmers glue mixed with some water.
  5. Yeah you can get them from Bears or Lurecraft. There are a few sites with classified adds where people sell stuff they don't use or are getting out of the business, you can find molds, glitter,hi lites.
  6. Hi lites are a powder additive that give the plastic a pearl like sheen to it, I add hi lutes to almost every thing I pour. I'm addicted to hi lites. They are great to add to a certain color to give it a different sort of appearance.
  7. Just thought you should know, I know there are a few brands of worms you don't want to remelt,if I'm not mistaken Berkley is one of them, I don't know what it is about them but they smell horrible when you melt them. I know there are a few others but can't remember the brand, hopefully someone will chime in that knows. Good luck on your new addictive hobby.
  8. That sounds like a great idea Salt. I would be able to make some of the colors and post pictures, I can't make too many cause I just got laid off so now my plastic has to last a little longer until I find a new job. I could downsize the recipe just for picture purposes, if a recipe calls for 4 ounces and 20 drops I can 2 ounces and 10 drops and so on. I also like the idea of only mods or higher ups can add them, let's get this book rolling.
  9. I just sent you a copy Salt, hopefully it works I'm not the smartest when it comes to computer stuff.
  10. Yeah I throw my fresh pours in water, just make sure you keep your water container away from your pouring area.Like Crabbybass said it is very dangerous if hot plastic and water meet. I pour on a work table and keep a bucket of cold water on the floor. good luck.
  11. I'm guessing the scales and and stuff are air brushed on with a special paint for plastics and then the bait is dipped in clear plastic. I could be wrong cause I'm no pro at this stuff.

    Gill's

A little Bluegill pattern I poured today.
  13. +1 I have two presto pots and they are great. Every now and then I gotta use a cup for a tripple pour but the Presto pots are the way to go.
  14. It is hard to determine how the bait will actually look from there pictures, I actually just got that same mold # 869 and it is a nice little mold. Maybe we can ban together and get Lurecraft to print some better pictures.
