I just paint right over the eyes, but after each coat i take a q-tip with some alchohol and just clean it off.

Yea, ive seen the 2 part silicone clay stuff and that seems to be all anyone carries. I like the pourable, it seems like ive gotten better molds with it. How do you like the ACC, I have a ton left over from a failed attemp at making my own lips. I use Etex right after I glue my 2 parts together that way it cuts down on my sanding time. Its a bummer when you throw down a base coat only to find sanding marks. I wonder if the ACC would work for that purpose

Does anyone know where to get some RTV silicone. Ive been ordering in but the shipping cost is killing me. I havent seen any at hobby lobby or michaels so i dont know if anyone carries it.

well i used the createx acrylics and just regular stick on name tags. It worked just fine with no peeling. the only thing i made sure of was i didnt put too much pressure on the stickers. i made sure it was heat set real well then when i applied them i used a toothpick and pushed down only on the edges.

painting was the easy part haha. cutting the stencils took a good 4 hours. i used name tags that were sticky, and cut the shapes out. I based it with the tan, put a couple stickers on after heating, did the lighter color, put more stickers on. then covered it with the darker. I was worried that the name tags would peel some of the paint so i was super careful and it turned out good.

Thanks for the info. I made an ACU pattern crank for a friend that was in the 82nd with me for a give away for his business. I had a huge amount of people ask for this so I figured Id make a handful more and sign them, now I know how. oh yea its posted in the gallery tell me what ya think

Used the army stencil letter patter for the back to make it look even more military -
I had an buddy that was in the 82nd with me that asked if i could do an acu pattern lure for a give away he is having on his facebook page. This is what i came up with. I put the double A for the eyes....ALL AMERICAN!!! -
What do you use with the caligraphy pens, ink or thinned paint. I know some ink will run once you try to clear it.

nope, trans yellow over the foil then the screen. Sprayed trans yellow again only thicker. Mixed rootbeer and very VERY lightly blended over -

Thats not a blank, I created it then I made an rtv mold for alumilite. the lips are from Janns. this guy dives 6 feet -
Well just posted my first lure yesterday so I thought I'd try to step it up. Here is my white crappie. Its my second lure....well if you count how many times I had to start over on this beast it would be more like my 30th.

Well Sonny it "could" be in your taklebox..... Thank you honestly guys. I did a lot of homework and research on TU so it feels like I have been painting for 3 months now haha. I wanted to do a color that I could have fun with and learn from. I didnt want to paint a basic shad pattern because my thoughts were that if I can knock out a decent looking craw pattern, then the shad will be no problem. I might try my hand at something a little harder this time I have a handfull of them ready to paint

Ive only had the airbrush for a month and this is the first lure ive tried it on. I used it quiet a bit on newsprint to get the hang of it. Funny thing is i didnt even know you could thin the paint, i blew 2 paintjobs in a row on this guy because of splatter. thinned it and WOW what a difference. Needless to say that paintjob would not have happened if it werent for the members on TU.

Yes, it is the very first lure ive completed. I didnt bother painting any of the prototypes i just figured alumilite white is enough. I found the design that worked and just got my rtv mold done last week. Perfectionism should be a certifiable condition... im not very familiar with an airbrush so i messed up a lot and had to strip it.

I use alumilite white. I call it the Big Belly Shad because when you look at it from the top/bottom it looks like a baitfish just had a heafty meal. It has a wide erratic wobble and it hunts. the little veer that it does looks exactly like a small baitfish turning on some forrage. It does it because of the shape I made the belly. The first prototypes of this lure were too erratic and would shake themselves silly so i just continued to shave the sides untill i found the action i liked. 9 times out of 10 with this bait it gets hit as soon as it makes the little shooting motion
