  1. 95% of my colorants are from spike-it and have very good success with them. I also use Lurecraft because Spike-It doesn't carry some colors I need. They also sell their colorants in 1oz bottles and they last a while. Trust the guys on this forum when asking questions, they've all been very helpful to me when I was getting started and still are helpful. It's good to know their are guys on here to answer your questions. All of us has our favorite mfg's we deal with and we all will tell you which ones to try but in the end you have to do what works for you.
  2. Thank you archery1. Would the coffee containers also give it a coffee scent as well? Btw, I do drink coffee and thats not a bad idea as well. Mark? I'm about 2,000 miles away but thank you anyway...
  3. Thank you. I will pick up some Tupper ware containers and give it a try. I will let you know how the LW Anise oil works in the containers. Just poured some baits a couple of days ago for a customer and getting ready to trim them here in a day or so, so that works out pretty good. Thanks again.
  4. I hear ya...lol..It's gonna be trial and error. From what I understand from LW is their plastisol has scent in it but can't really tell, I was wanting to add more to it but I'm at a loss. Maybe adding it at the end before packaging might be the answer. Also was wandering if it is slick enough to keep them from sticking to each other.
  5. Thank you fellas. Had a feeling that adding the scent before bagging would be the answer but wasn't sure. Thanks again.
  6. Hello everyone. Been away from here for quite some time, looks like I've missed a lot of topics. It's good to be back on. My question is I've recently purchased some Anise oil for my baits. Was wondering if I should add it to my baits while mixing the plastisol for scent or after they are made before packaging and if I add it to the plastisol how much do I add or should I have bought something else? Any advise or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced....George
  7. Thank you JRammit for the info. I do have details on the balsa wood but mostly undercuts in the worms i designed. They are sealed pretty good but im just hoping they dont tear the RTV in the undercuts as I'm trying to get them out, had that problem with silicone even after i put a coating to release them. Thanks again....
  8. Thanks for the input Bob. The instructions that i read mentioned baby powder, which in a way makes sense, but on the other hand I'm not sure if it's slick enough to release it from the mold, i may have to go with the spray on canola oil which makes perfect sense. It boils down to i just have to do it one way or the other and just pray it works. Thanks again....
  9. For my labels i use Avery Labels. They have a wide array of sizes and styles and free website to help you make your labels. I've been pleased with them. Walmart carries them at a decent price. The office supply places and Hobby Lobby are a little higher priced. Hope that helps.
  10. Thanks fellas for the info. I know this sounds weird but i put about 4-5 coats of clear fingernail polish on them so I'm hoping that would be enough. Just really worried about the masters sticking. Tried it with 100% GE silicone on another fellas advice and it turned out to be a nightmare. I'm wondering if there is anything to put on them so they dont stick. Thanks again....George
  11. On the suject of Alumilite, i just bought some Alumilite HS3 from Hobby Lobby, now im wishing i would have read this earlier about the 40% coupon...lol.. I've never used before but I'm making my master molds with it which the actual master is made of balsa wood, this is for pouring an open pour bait. What is the best release agent to use, if any and is it possible to pour the Alumilite and then put the product in it from the top without the balsa wood floating and not staying in? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...George
  12. I agree with jigman and FatFlattie. After i get the lures im doing done, i use a sandwich bag and put about 4-6 squirts of my attractant in the bag first, then i add the lures then i make sure that all lures are covered by massaging them in the bag and not sticking together. In a few days i follow the same process. The lures soak it up pretty fast.
  13. Your fine alsworms. I always welcome your comments and advice. Thanks to both of you for your help. I've tried spray poly on my pop but it soaks it up faster than i can spray it and doesn't work at all. Gonna have to give the minwax a try... Thanks again...
  14. Thank you Travis. I've noticed that it looks like you have a lot of plaster molds, and it also has a yellow tinge on top with a shiny cavity. What is it that you use to get it that way? I've also noticed that their is no build up on the side of the cavities if those are plaster, how do you get them that smooth? Thanks for your help.... George
