  1. Thanks for the replies guys, I would like to produce them in batches of 100, so not really massive production but I would like to produce up to 500 a week. The electrostatic painting looks like it would be a good idea, and I have found one for saw locally at a good price. Does anyone use infrared lamps to cure powder paint? In the future I plan to look further into spin casting I watched that video the other day and it has lots of good ideas in it. Any other good hints or tips?
  2. Hey guys, Just looking for some tricks and tips to produce fairly large amounts of spinnerbaits Especially with painting, I currently powder coat all my baits but heating each individually then dipping consumes quite a bit of time. Is there a bulk way I can do this? Infrared lamps? Any tips or advice on production would be great Thanks in advance
  3. Thanks for the replies guys, the reason that I would like them oval shaped is purely for aesthetics and not for the fish. I will have a go with these and see how I go. What would be the best type of paint to use? The heads are painted with powder paint Cheers Chester
  4. Hey guys Just wondering if anyone has a good technique of painting spinnerbait eyes so they are the exact same each time? I want to make oval shaped eyes, and can't come up with a good way of doing these efficiently. I was thinking some sort of stencil, mold or something along these lines. Maybe I'm just over thinking this and there is a simple way of doing it Thanks guys Chester
  5. Hey guys, Thanks again for all the help, since you have all been so helpful I have a few more questions Before Pouring your baits, do you melt your lead into ingots? I am having a bit of trouble when pouring, I am using a Lee lead melting pot, and the spout constantly gets clogged up I have to stick a bit of wire up there after almost every bait to free it up and even then it isnt a very good pour. Also when i'm pouring my baits often come out with some wire showing in between the hook and the body of the spinnerbait, any tips to avoid this? Thanks guys Chester
  6. Thanks small jaw I have one more question, what do you use to glue the eyes on? And do you use a sealer or lacquer after you paint them? Cheers
  7. Thanks for the advice guys much appreciated, all take all this on board cheers Chester
  8. The injector is large enough, I still have about half the tube left when im finished. It is a delmart mould and injector, Im not sure on the make and viscosity of the plastic I am using. cheers
  9. Sorry but probably silly question, spruce? As in the part where I inject the plastic Into?
  10. Hey guys Just got a few quick questions regarding spinnerbaits I'm using a do it mold, just wondering what the best way to remove the bit of excess lead tht comes out the top of the spout while pouring? I have just been using pliers and wriggling it off but this normally ends up with a messy finish. When attatching the swivel and blade to the end of the spinnerbait shaft what do you guys use to bend the wire over? I know you can use round tip pliers but is it possible to use a wire bender to get a better finish? Also where is a good place to buy bulk skirts from? I have seen that spinnerbaitskirts.com have very cheap skirts, just wondering if there is similar sites that I can purchase cheap skirts from? Thanks guys
  11. Hey guys I recently bought a 10 cavity 4 inch grub injection mould It is the first injection mould I have used. The problem I am having is that some of the grubs are coming out hollow or only partially formed. So I'm wondering what I am doing wrong, pouring to fast? Too slow? Mould is too cold? Thanks in advance Josh
