  1. The last thread I found on it was 2004 so I wanted to make sure it was still the case and it sure is as expected.
  2. Thank you very much for the reply. I figured this to be the case but wanted to double check it. Thanks.
  3. Does anyone know where you can get these?
  4. I agree with frank on this one and honestly it's exactly what makes selling baits a slow start. At first it seems you can only sell if your making exact copies of something already popular but in reality it's like anything else. You have to get out there and build the consumers faith in the product you have and slowly but surely you will grow a following of customers that are faithful to your product and not people that are just looking for a cheap alternative to someone else's.
  5. One ccm MD3XL single cavity $45 and 4.5" Swim shad 2 cavity for $50. Prices include shipping in the US. $85 takes both.
  6. Yeah it's a pain to say the least! Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm leaning towards the 702 given all the replies. Well see how it goes I guess.
  7. I've heard so far of ccm MAD dad being a problem and a bears craw as well. I've also heard bear has worked out the issue but ccm has not. I know no legalities of all this nor do I even want to get involved.
  8. So there's been so much legal craziness flying around with craw molds lately and I'm looking to add one to my line up. Before I invest in molds for my company I'm looking for some feedback from the big guys. What craw mold out there would you say shoots the most consistent/produces fish the best that won't earn you a cease and desist?
  9. If you shake the jug and mix your plastic quickly without letting it sit trust me you will have a ton of micro bubbles so in theory yes it would help for sure. Depending on your hook size/weight is what may make it actually float or just sink a lot slower.
  10. Lurecraft is basically the same price as Calhouns. The bubbles are simple to get rid of. After I mix in my colorant I just let the cup sit for a while before I heat an I have no issues anymore. It's a pain at first until you learn to plan for it.
  11. Me too actually lol. I messaged him but it says he hasn't been on since 01/05/2013 so I was checking other options. CCM is amazing but 40-50 in savings on 5 gallons is worth a little extra work and it's not too much harder once you work out a system to get around the quirks. That and I like that it's softer then CCM regular.
  12. Calhoun's hard packs also and I've learned to deal with it so that's not so much an issue. My major concerns are micro bubbles and how close they are in softness. Medium Calhoun's has a nice soft finished product compared to the other medium I've tried and it's actually about perfect for my application. If the 502 has less microbubble issues and has a close to same softness I'm going to give it a try.
  13. Those bubbles have become my little micro friends lol. Thanks for the reply this is exactly the info I'm looking for. Are they simular as far as stiffness once cured? I would love to lose some bubbles but I do like the finished consistancy of Calhouns.
  14. I know these plastic threads have been beat to death but I also know the formulas also change so I'm going to ask. By no means do I want a my plastic is better arguement but I would like from people who have experience with both their opinions on both. Which they prefer and why if possible? Thanks everyone and have a good day.
  15. Looking to buy these molds
  16. It does if the scent is a plasticizer base.
  17. http://www.caneycreekmolds.com/Crappie-Carrot--3in-br-10-Cavity_p_93.html Sold
  18. That's the point of a forum. Voice your opinions and see other's. Learn new things an be exposed to new ideas! Thanks for the convo Carolina.
  19. I agree some people just swear by it. I personally try to talk people out of it but yes I offer it when it's what people want. That's the whole point in buying custom made baits. You have the choice to make the bait the way you want it!
  20. A proactive turn to this conversation could be the fact that salt is just a filler that's cheaper then the plastic it takes the place of and some could argue the benefit is sink rate. The cons would be brittle baits discoloration and now as we've established swelling. Another proactive point would be that Caney Creek is now offering a sinking additive that supposedly won't swell discolor or even change the softness of a bait. I've yet to personally try it but I've heard good things.
  21. Check this stuff out. Haven't tried it personally yet. https://www.caneycreekmolds.com/mobile/home.asp?#page-65
  22. I see this all to often. We all know that the better the environment the fish live in the better reproduction, size, quality, quantity, and taste our fish that we all love will have. This is common sense! Why does this kind of conversation always become so politically charged? We the fishermen need to work together on these issues in way that best suits us so that we don't have to worry about regulation/politicians doing it for us in a way that might not suit us. End of story. Sorry for the rant but so tired of seeing what should be constructive conversation turning into an argument.
  23. Each of those names have a good starter kit. From there just read read read on the how to of the forum. There's so many little things that you'd never think of that will eliminate a ton of frustration.
  24. Www.fishingskirts.com is a good site but you'd have to research to what extent it's made in the USA. If you find out I'm curious also.
