  1. Hi guys hope this hasn't been answered before but was wondering the advantage of GST compared to Etrex. I see you can dip it (which would be awesome) but also seen guys talking about a 2-3 week cure time. I have been using Etrex for 2 years and really like the stuff once I clued in how it works. So I am wondering why so many are switching to GST? Am I missing something? Thanks for the help and all the info on here. Mike
  2. Very cool concept on the bbs inside. I like!
  3. Very nice foil job. I can't seem to get those right at all. I guess I will have to keep trying.
  4. Curt thank you for your continued props on all my lures. Barry thank you for your nice comments also. The undercoat is actually silver although in the pic it does look white.
  5. This topwater lure was made from Western red Cedar and then airbrushed with lacquer paint. I then top coated with Etrex. This particular lure was sent to a Northern Calif. Wounded Warriors tournament for a raffle prize. Hope you enjoy. Mike
  6. Thought I would try a lure to show others of my faith in Jesus Christ. A little rough but will work for what it is needed for.

Your practice is quite good. I really like your scales. I watched the videos of solarbaits and I am wanting to try this technique also. Looks like you got it down pat.
  8. Not real pleased with this one. Don't really like the color scheme but you don't get better unless you try. Looks kind of like a goldfish.
  9. This and three other lures I donated to the Wounded Warriors tournament up at Lake Almanor in Northern Calif. in Sept.
  10. For my first popper I was pleased how it turned out. Thanks to my teenage daughter for the dressed treble. She loves to do these. I just let her know what color scheme I need. She is to the point where she drives down to our local sporting goods store by herself to pick out the feathers and furs she wants to tie. Pretty cool and I know she'll make a young man proud someday.
  11. Thought I would try to make a mouse to see what would come out. Leather ears and tail.
  12. Diemai thank you for the input. You guys are great help!
  13. AMac it is supposed to be submerged and Mark I have no problem myself looking like an idiot on my own, I just don't want help from others!
  14. Bob thank you for your suggestion. I will definitely do this and see what happens. I appreciate the help here on this forum. Other forums I have been on seem to relish in the idea of making you look like an idiot. Mike
  15. I am a newbie at lure making and I made up this lure for a few friends that wanted something for trout. Everything seemed to work right. The thru wire construction worked but when I tested the lure I couldn't get the spinner to spin on the wire. It does spin just fine out of the water. It doesn't seem like there is too much play on the wire where the spinner is so I am stumped. Any help for a newbie from you experts? Please! I am really liking this forum and all the unselfish help you guys are giving. Thank you Mike
  16. Real nice! Looks real
