  1. It looks different on my phone than on my laptop as well and that will go for everyone because all our monitors are set up differently. However, it does look more brown than green so if it were me I would go with the green pumpkin I have from spike it, I believe it is the 256 but that may be wrong as its more brown. Wouldn't need much in a half cup of plastic judging by the transparency there is in the skirt tails so start with a drop and go from there. My personal green pumpkin recipe I use is as follows: 1/2 cup plastic 8 drops green pumpkin Lure craft old formula 2-3 drops green pumpkin spike it Good luck with it and report back to us buddy.
  2. Looks like a green pumpkin with a ton of salt. Gives it that opaqueness you're seeing.
  3. Big one is anything from Berkley. That stuff becomes a violent, boiling hellbroth that you just don't need to be dealing with.
  4. Some molds, especially molds with very small appendages or rings on the body can be temperamental. Denting usually occurs when the plastic is shot too hot and the inside of the bait is starved for hot plastic causing a dent as it pulls in the plastic from the sides of the baits. If you're getting a lot of dents, try to shoot at a lower temp and see if that solves it. Warm your mold and injector, make sure you're not sucking up air into your injector by sucking up plastic, purge it back into the cup and then suck up plastic a second time and then injecting. Most of the time if you're getting voids in your baits you're sucking air into your injector and not getting it out. Just keep at it and don't get frustrated there's always a learning curve when you try new things!
  5. Frank, that's a useful tip for the bigger swim baits like the Huddlestons but it also works on the smaller bagged baits if they have bent tails. The hot water will straighten the tails back up but in my experience the plastic will retain its original stiffness once it cools back down.
  6. I catch just as many fish with the bead media as I did with salt.
  7. I have a top inject swim bait mold that is an enormous pain in the ass. No matter what it seems you get bubbles in the nose of the bait.
  8. That stuff is headed towards me as well. Hoping it holds off until after I get home from work. Be safe.
  9. I would go for a digital probe type thermometer over the infrared simply for the fact you need to measure the middle of the cup of plastic and not just the top. I have both a digital and some cheap candy thermometers the fiance uses and both work well for me.
  10. That should read denting by the way. Autocorrect on cell phones, got to love it.
  11. Commonly refered to as denying. It's caused by the bait needing more hot plastic where there is none available. Like suggested, try holding pressure for a few seconds. Also try shooting the bait at a lower temp so it isn't starving for more hot plastic. Also, welcome to the forum. Glad to have you aboard! Good luck with it, let us know if you fix your problem.

  13. And if all else fails and you do mess it up, add a lot of black! Hard to mess up black.
  14. Never used it to know what kind of glow you're referring to. Possibly try adding a few drops of chartreuse or fluorescent orange will give it some brightness.
  15. Will do. Thanks for the insight, Frank.
  16. I already have one of LW's green pumpkin formulas, it's more brown than green though. May have to try another one to see if I can get close to the LC formula.
  17. I actually use the old watermelon is several recipes, although it is usually only one drop haha. Hope they haven't changed their green pumpkin formula as it's the best I've found for my taste.
  18. I have a LinMar beaver mold lying around somewhere I haven't used in years. They got in trouble a while back from RI for selling the mold I have. Thing is, I have knock offs that catch just as many fish so I have no reason to copy a bait. Part of the reason I don't know where that mold is haha
  19. 15% eh? May have to get in on that. Thanks as always, Bear!
  20. You can certainly get a vein using injectors. I've hand poured the bottom and top halves of my molds and then injected my vein color which works well. I know a few guys pour half their mold and let it cool and then put a drop of colorant on top of the poured plastic near the gate, close the mold and inject the top color.
  21. Damn, I didn't even notice you're in Ohio when I suggested that. In that case, no, I don't think that will help your cause with it being that cold outside unfortunately. One other thing I can suggest before you make the jump completely would be to bring all your stuff inside that would benefit from not being cold. Molds, injectors, pyrex cups, plastisol, etc just to keep it at a decent room temp within the house.
  22. If you have a griddle lying around you could set your cups on it to keep them warm once you get them up to temp in the micro.
  23. Try and call Bass tackle and Bob's tackle shack and see if they can get you any. Other than that, you might be out of luck:/
