  1. They may no longer sell them, I know they used too. Sorry about that! I know Del-Mart sells inserts for their Chub E swimbait, don't know whether or not those will work with your mold or not.
  2. Haven't tried it personally but everyone seems to really enjoy it.
  3. This is a color I would fall back on one of my old reliable colors: natural from lurecraft. Nice, mellow brown that isn't overpowering and mixes well with any other colors you add to it.
  4. Swim ripper mold came with a hook slot that was cut too deep allowing air to go from the second cavity into the first and ruining the first bait. All it took was one email explaining the situation and they replaced it no problem. Awesome customer service from some incredibly kind people.

    That's beautiful
  6. You can remelt them, I've done it several times now.
  7. It hasn't happened to me yet, but even if it does I'm not concerned about it. I can always buy a new injector when the time comes and for me it is worth it when I get the consistency and better looking baits using the media. Ultimately, it will come down to whether or not the risk/reward trade off is worth it to you.
  8. Just be forewarned that some people have experienced scratching of their injectors using the bead media. I have not come across this happening yet and have shot a few hundred baits using the media. I coat the inside of my injector with worm oil by applying it to the oring and pulling it back and forth through the injector several times between every couple of shots and that has seemed to help a lot in my case.
  9. Usually I put 2.25 tablespoons. Gets the weight to right around 10.8 ounces. Also, in the picture of that junebug that is emerald flake we talked about prior.
  10. I really like the bead blasting media. There have been several topics on it here if you use the search function you'll find plenty of info about it. Makes for a nice, durable bait without sacrificing the action and doesn't cloud the baits like using salt will.
  11. I use super soft plastic and 80 grit bead blasting media in lieu of salt and no softener. Tried adding softener before and the baits turned into wet noodles ha
  12. Recipe I use for watermelon is pretty close to Zoom. 1/2 cup of plastic 1 drop watermelon Lurecraft 1 drop Natural Lurecraft 3 drops green pumpkin Lurecraft 3-4 drops lime green Lurecraft 2 drops watermelon 101 Lureworks Black flake, size is up to you. Here are some baits made using this recipe.
  13. I'm currently working flexi at the hospital so I switch from 12 hour days to 12 hour nights pretty frequently so my sleep schedule is pretty much non existent haha.
  14. Depends on how you plan on adding it in. If you're planning on adding it to the entire 5 gallons it shouldn't be more than a few ounces at most, per cup I wouldn't expect anymore than a capful at a time. Hardener stiffens up the plastic pretty quick so it doesn't take much at all. I would definitely suggest experimenting with it first, you may even have luck calling them and asking what ratio you should use to get the softness you're looking for. I personally use super soft for most of my plastics and they're still plenty durable for catching a handful of fish as long as they're not toothy!
  15. Indeed it is, was hard to see the difference on my phone. I think it might be time for an upgrade, I've only had it since '09! If you're looking for something similar to that the 706 is pretty darn close. You ever sleep Monte? Seems you're posting on here at all times of night and day
  16. Well, the lurecraft watermelon is about the ugliest thing I have ever seen so I used those other colors to make it best I could. The 101 is actually completely optional in that recipe. If you want, 101 straight in enough drops makes a fantastic watermelon all on its own. The rest of those were acquired over time and that's just the combos I've used to get the best results, by no means am I suggesting you go online and buy those colorants if you don't already have them haha
  17. Ike didn't get Berkley Havoc to make the flat dog for nothing, flatter stick baits and baits with a flat side in general will still catch fish.
  18. Watermelon 1/2 cup of plastic 1 drop watermelon (Lurecraft) 1 drop Natural (Lurecraft) 3 drops green pumpkin (Lurecraft) 3-4 drops lime green (lurecraft) 2-3 drops watermelon 101 (lureworks) Junebug 1/2 cup of plastic 2 drops cherry red (lureworks) 10 drops electric blue (lurecraft) 20 drops black grape (lurecraft) bunch of .040 and .015 green or emerald flake Neither of these recipes include salt and if used will heavily distort the colors.
  19. I know there used to be a few guys who cut hand pour molds that still made fully round sticks. Have a look around the classifieds section and other mold makers sites to see if you can find one for a good price. I'd suggest going ahead and buying an injector and going all the way with injection if you think this is something you want to do on a bigger scale.
  20. I have several one, two and pint size bottles that I use. Many of those one ounce sizes are bottles I have from when I started pouring and injecting more than 2 years ago and I still have them. If you're just starting out I would suggest going with the 1 ounce size and if you end up using it up and figure you'll use more than that in the future you can always buy bigger. I have colorants from nearly everyone but my favorite so far have been from ispikeit.com who I also buy a lot of my flake and additives from as well.
  21. For my baits, I go no salt. For anyone else's, I let them make that decision and I will do whichever they prefer.
  22. I have the 5" swim ripper mold which works wonders in the spring when I want a bigger profile, just bite off the head and thread it on the hook. My buddy has the 3 or 3.5", dont remember exactly how big it is and it's a great bait for a smaller presentation or as a trailer on a chatterbait.
  23. Spike it has several different flake options that are pretty similar to this.
