  1. 702 craw, swim ripper swim bait are my two favorite
  2. Love spike it colorants. Pretty strong, thick and don't have any hard packing issues at all that I've seen. Definitely worth giving it a try.
  3. I've always used a light watermelon with a few drops of chartreuse, no hi lite necessary for me.
  4. Plastic is too hot or if you've been reheating that same plastic the glitter may start to fold. Watch your temps and if that doesn't fix it work in smaller batches and add your glitter right before you pour.
  5. MF has non bleed on their site and you can call lure works and talk to them about needing non bleed colors and they will hook you up as well.
  6. I was referring to trout's post when I posted that, sorry Posted that one from my phone so it wouldn't let me quote his post like I am doing here.
  7. I believe you're confusing a laminate plate with a blending block. A laminate plate is just a plate of aluminum that you use with an existing mold that allows you to shoot only half of the bait. Replace the laminate plate with the other half of the bait mold and you shoot the other side's color. At least that is what I gleaned from your post.
  8. I had two injectors already and picked up the small blending block from bear's site. It works well enough, don't really make a whole lot of laminate baits so spending the extra cash for the BT or BJ twinjector wasn't justified for me.
  9. More convenient, yes. Necessary, no. Having a spare nozzle on hand is useful. Inject first color, purge injector into cup/pot, let mold set up for a minute, push excess plastic out of injector, put on new tip, replace lami plate with mold and inject the second color.
  10. I bought 20 pounds of it a month or so ago and even making baits every few days it doesn't even feel like I've made a dent! Of course, when you're only using 4 Tbs per cup of plastic it's hard to really use it up quick which is just fine by me. Also, forgot who asked but I have so far not had any problems or scratching of my injector/mold/blending block as of yet. Can't explain why that is other than that I lube my injector every few shots with a little worm oil to coat the inside of the tube/o ring/ face of the plunger and so far that has seemed to work. Not saying its fool proof because I'm sure I don't make anywhere near the amount of baits some of you guys so but thus far I haven't seen any scratching. Also, caught a few solid bass yesterday using a weightless Texas rig fishing it fast like a soft jerk bait. Will post some pics in a little bit!
  11. Let us know how it holds up. That's pretty cool if it works and stands the test of time!
  12. That is probably due to the fact the tentacles are pretty thin that there's simply not enough plastic to absorb all the light and as a result some of it passes through the bait resulting in a little opacity. The only thing I can suggest is doubling the amount of black and see if that gets them where you want. For colors that require a lot of drops I would suggest looking into Do-it (formerly Caney Creek) X2 colorants. They're very thick, concentrated colorants and require only half the drops you would normally use. They're really nice to have when you are making a bait that needs a lot of drops.
  13. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT remelt berkley powerbait. Turns into a boiling cauldron of hell broth.
  14. Kind of disappointed with the craw oil I got from spike it. It's just not as potent and stinky as I expected it to be.
  15. I mixed it in small plastic mixing bowls and in solo cups but not glass. All the molds I've made using RTV used either soft plastics or clay and I've never had a problem using either.
  16. Well boys, tomorrow I am going to put my sticks using the media to the test. Hopefully I can find some fish (and land them!) it's only been a month or so since I last fished maybe I still remember how to do it
  17. Found anything to prevent that or help it not get so beat up? I haven't seen any wear yet but I've only been using the media for a couple weeks. Likely not enough time or use to show wear yet when compared to you guys who do this everyday.
  18. I still haven't noticed any scratching with my injector, but that doesn't mean it won't happen in the future. I try to keep a small layer of worm oil on the inside of the injector to protect it from any scratching.
  19. Not a very good picture, but you can get the gist of how much floppiness the baits have. This is one of the green pumpkin sticks from above that has 1/4 teaspoon of softener added to 1/2 cup of plastic. When I compare these baits with others I have done with no softener in them I honestly can't discern any differences between the two. I really love this bead media though. It suspends better than salt, the baits look better with more transparency, I don't have to tweak the color formulas much if at all and although I haven't tested it yet I feel like they're going to be much more durable just with how they feel in the hand.
  20. If there's a scent on jackal baits I honestly can't discern what it is. As far as I can tell its just worm oil in the bag with the baits.
  21. Surprisingly they're very flexible and very soft. Most of the time I don't even add softener to the plastic (I'm using a soft formula of plastisol) where as when I used salt I was adding 3/4-1 tablespoon of softener to 1/2 cup of plastic just to get the right wobble.
  22. Sticks with using the media. Watermelon red Watermelon seed Bright Junebug Green Pumpkin You can see how transparent they are. This is one of the watermelon sticks held up to the sun.
  23. Two molds for sale today. 5.25" stick bait molds (Bears) $55tyd 4.25" kodiak craw 2 SOLD Send me a message for a quick response.
  24. Depends on the strength and amount of scent utilized. I make my own scents for the most part and they're very very strong. My garlic scent is by far the most potent and if I put ~10 drops into a bag with a little extra worm oil just to keep things from sticking it takes just a few days and they soak up the majority of the scent and worm oil. This is how I bag my stuff: take all the plastics I've made (same color, unless they're all non bleeding colors) and place them into a big Tupperware container. Squirt in some worm oil and whatever scent I'm using, put the lid on and shake. Let it sit for 30 minutes and the shake it all up again. Give it another 30 minutes and then throw them in a bag.
