  1. May be overheating your plastic. Also, if you're using flake it may be bleeding during your reheats giving you a different color.
  2. My scuppernong is 1/2 cup plastic 18 drops scuppernong spike it 2 drops cherry red spike it 2 drops black lurecraft
  3. I add some cherry red colorant to mine as well as some black to darker it up.
  4. If it's not listed on his site then he may be out. You can always shoot him an email about it.
  5. I have a good recipe for scuppernong that is a lot like Zooms that has that red tint to it. I'll find it and post it up for you. Also have a recipe for motor oil chartreuse as well.
  6. I have the slick Willie mold and love it. Great little drop shot bait.
  7. The flake doesn't necessarily bleed but it does reflect light differently depending on the amount used, what color it is, what color the plastic is, etc.
  8. Sounds like you're certainly keeping your eyes and ears open which is good to know. I, like you, think this is only the beginning of these kinds of attacks and they're becoming more and more frequent. Stay vigilant and stay safe, that goes for everyone.
  9. We've had the channel in an open room tuned to CNN tonight. Looks like things are still unsteady over there. Hope you're safe and far enough away from all that craziness.
  10. My wife enjoys giving me grief about watching Family Guy and South Park but they're funny to me. I guess working in healthcare for so long has warped my sense of humor and what I find funny many others don't. Like I said before, it was simply a joke. Sorry if some of you took it the wrong way, that isn't what I intended. The majority of my bait making experience has been a lot of trial and error (with a lot of errors) but that's helped me get where I am today making my own baits. I know a lot of you guys have years and years more experience than I do and I wasn't trying to make light of the immense amount of knowledge you all give out to members and asking nothing in return. Dave, I noticed under your profile pic it says you're located in Indonesia. Hope you're far away from all the going on's and if not, hope you have a way to get out safely.
  11. I use bead media. 1/2 cup soft plastic, 2 tablespoons bead media. No softener. Works great, really durable.
  12. Good deal. In all fairness, the old watermelon isn't really a watermelon color it's a weird Hulk/nuclear waste green
  13. Do you have any of the older lurecraft colorants? I made a formula using their old watermelon, green pumpkin, natural and lime green that looks great.
  14. My usual go to on my home lake is some shade of watermelon, sometimes I'll dip the tail in some chartreuse. Other times I have had a lot of luck with my roadkill color as well as green pumpkin. It's hard for me to choose just one! So, I'll list some. 1. watermelon seed (plus watermelon with flake) 2. green pumpkin 3. roadkill 4. Junebug 5. red bug 6. black or black blue
  15. 1/2 cup plastic 20 drops black melon (Lureworks) 1 drop watermelon (old Lureworks color) 8 drops green pumpkin (old Lureworks color) 1-2 drops white, depending on how much you want to lighten it up Copper hi lite to taste

  17. 3.75" is all I use anymore. It's great T rigged on its own or threaded onto a jig. If need be, just trim off some body sections to trim it up to have a more compact trailer. It's a great bait, very versatile little fish catcher.
  18. The only flake I've found to work in the disco style is from spike it and it's not cheap.
  19. If you bought it from LureCraft I hate to tell you but that stuff will never work in the plastic. Trust me, I've tried everything.
  20. Early on I would suggest black, green, red, purple and blue glitter as your base and expand your inventory from there. For me, those are my main colors and have them in sizes .015 to .040 with a few select colors in .008.
  21. Bear sent me a nice sample of his fuscia glitter and it has worked well for me.
