  1. Got mine in 5 days from Cali to Montreal, Canada, so it will probably be a couple of days.
  2. A-Mac Why don't you try dip sealing with solarez first, then prime and paint like you normally do and after topping with the HR. That should make your baits waterproof?
  3. Free Trade is great on large expensive items or big shipments of a single item, but all the paperwork and documents involved to prove county of origin is not worth it for a small seller whose product is under $100.00 Like I said before for some reason the postal services in both country's don't really bother trying to collect small amounts of duty and don't try to nail you with brokerage fees that probably would cost them more to collect than its worth to them.
  4. If you are in Canada you should always try to get items shipped by US postal service. I have never paid duty or any of the EXTRA charges that Fed UP or UPS ( U Pay Sucks) will bill you. I find they try to gouge their customers way too much. If you have to use them, you can do your own custom clearance on your own, which will save you a bundle on large shipments. Just look how to do it on google.
  5. Mark I have been using Etex so far and I really like the finish and want to keep it that way, but it would be really nice to be able to do the first couple of coats fast with solarez and then only have to wait for the final top coat (Etex ) to dry. I don't mind going through the extra step and was wondering if anyone had tried this to see if the two products work well together or if there is a reaction that is not worth bothering with it ? I have not purchased Solarez yet, but from what I see it is still drys with a bit of a haze to it and I wonder if a final coat of Etex would fix that?
  6. I want a thin coat of Etex for the glassy effect
  7. Has anyone tried this? I did a search but did not find the answer.
  8. Gino That will save me a lot of time and make each bait the same. Many thanks Jeff
  9. Gino I found the post that Hazmail explains how he gets the effect http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/index.php?/topic/2594-hard-bait-cookbook/page-2?hl=%2Bnemo+%2Bblob#entry79013 Hope this helps Jeff
  10. Thanks guys I like Jerry's suggestion. Kinda solves a second problem of how to make a good attachment for the belly hook and then i can just make the tail hook the wire threw which is easy.
  11. For Musky baits what type lead is used. Do you pour your own or is there a pre made type of weight. I am not a big fan of melting lead especially since the temp here is around - 10 to -20 for the next couple of months!

I saw a YouTube video of a guy making musky baits that had a spinning tail. He did something that was similar to what you are thinking of doing but he filled the inside with spray foam. Can't find the video but I am sure someone on here knows about it and can post a link
  15. Call smooth on directly they have many differant formulas. I am sure you can get the answers you need. If you are lucky they might even have a local distributor that stocks all there products in all the differant sizes. I went to a distributor last week and left with great answers and a handful of finished sample disks. http://www.smooth-on.com/ Good luck
  16. What thickness (gauge) wire would you recommend for 7 to 10" musky lures?
  17. I read somewhere that baking soda acts the same as commercial accelerators on super glue.
