  1. Not yet. The vast majority of guys on here are making baits on the hobby level, an injection machine can run as high as $40,000 and up. Molds for them between $3,000 - $10,000 each. It really is a completely different way of doing things. Based on what you listed i would say you'd more molds if you want to produce more product.
  2. It all depends on how long I have been running the plastic in the pots. Most times I can empty the pots fairly quick so I save the left overs for the next run and mix it with fresh plastic.
  3. Just to give you an idea here, when I shoot swimbaits (3 sizes) I will typically shoot 102 cavities. Drop shot baits - 84 cavities for one and 80 cavities for the other, 5" stick baits - 64 cavities, fluke style minnow bait - 60 cavities. I find that its more than just more molds/cavities though. All I do is try to manage heat. There is usually a point where more mold/cavities actually will slow you down. I try to have as many molds as it takes to allow me to keep shooting in a cycle, e.g. if I have 12 molds I will clamp them in 3 groups of 4. Shoot a group and move it to cool, grab another, shoot it and move it to cool, grab the last and shoot it, move it to cool. Grab the first, pull the baits, re-clamp and shoot again etc.
  4. The alumadust isn't an actual colourant, its a powdered pearl or hilite. The liquid colourant is what you are looking for.
  5. No actually it wasn't typed in a condescending tone at all (if it was spoken you'd be able to see that) You got a little snarky in your reply when you didn't hear exactly what you wanted, so I just fed a little back to you, that is all. Now that some of us have had the chance to try and flex their internet muscles it's time to get back to making baits. At least I am, gotta start the work week, someone has to get these orders out.
  6. Posted directly on his website if you read it "We are still shut down. I do not know when we will get back open Sorry for the delay." I bet you when David has an idea of when he can get the shop back open he will post it there on the front page.
  7. A simple visit to their website shown they are still down.
  8. UV plastisol is just a regular plastisol with this stuff added.
  9. The only way I have seen to reduce the minimum with these companies is to buy their "private label" baits (1000 - 2000 pieces per colour). as soon as you want them to shoot YOUR mold then you are stuck with a complete run (I've seen minimums between 5000 - 10,000 pieces per colour).
  10. Problem is Zoom has a utility patent on their chunks so you usually won't see copy's of theirs and they can be quite vigilant in protecting their patents/trademarks. Theirs are injected but they use machines and large molds.
  11. Bio Edge Salmon egg scent, all natural scent too.
  12. Bait Junkys will have a brand new one available this week. keep an eye on them
  13. That's not a BTS mold Looks like a custom from Ultra Molds.
  14. And I would note the skinny one will be a DEAD ON match to Zoom's

They do have it exclusively I believe, They make the baits for Strike King. It's not a 2 part material, as McLuvin posted it is a Thermoplastic Rubber of sorts meaning it is heat activated in a similar fashion as PVC Plastisol just need to be worked differently.
  16. No blue, the purple colour will take care of that for you and make it look like that
  17. I read drill motor, not trolling motor LMAO. I've learned the hard way and now look at it like this, I could cheap out and get something that can't quite handle the task at hand, and spend more in the long run, or I can just get the right tool to do the job the first time around.
  18. Electric drill motor will burn out fairly quick, ask me how I know............. My agitator uses a 1hp 1750rpm motor. Mixes a drum without breaking a sweat.
  19. its basically just a yellow and bluegill laminate and they call it sunfish i think.

The last time you posted on this this was the reply from someone with a whole hell of a lot of experience and info about this kind of stuff I personally don't believe it is a 2 part at all. It was offered in small volumes to the hobby side at one point but was scraped due to how difficult it was to work with from what I have been told.

No. It is nothing like the stuff we use and requires specialized equipment to process from what I am able to find out.
  22. Real simple, there is a clamp around the lid that tightens with a simple bolt. Take the bolt off, open and remove the clamp and bingo, the lid comes off.
  23. Exactly!!! bribass, this is a drum agitator. I like that I can head out an hour before I start a shift and turn it on, when I get out to work it's mixed and ready.
  24. A drum agitator is exactly how you would mix a drum LOL. I used the mixer and drill for a couple years, then I bit the bullet and had a drum agitator made, SOOOOOOOO much better.
