  1. add one drop of red at a time until it looks right to you
  2. No, it is the use of Worm Oil (DINP), a plasticizer used to make the plastic that allows the scent to be absorbed in the plastic. My experience is the worm oil acts as a carrier to get the scent in. It will be absorbed whether or not you have salt in your plastic.
  3. I would stop cooking it in, a good percentage will be burning off. Coat your baits after with a worm oil based scent like Bear's, Lurecrafts or SpikeIt's
  4. you want it to come down straight, put a piece of cutting mat or hard rubber down and it will work fine.
  5. I have Lure Craft's press, I had the block that the blades are held in opened a little wider and some extra spacers and blades added. went from i think 11 blades to 16. other than that its the same press they sell. Like I have told many others, once you find that rhythm when cutting the tails you should have no issues cutting 350 - 500 in an hr. and they will come out just fine. just a tip, the more salt you add to the plastic the easier it is to cut and of course lube the tail section of the tube with worm oil, about every 4th tube will be good.
  6. Del's mold requires you to cut the tails. only molds you don't have to are from Ultra Molds and DoIt. I have used these molds and didn't like them, I was after a tube that is as close to a dipped tube (same as mizmo's) but injected and I landed on Angling AI's molds, yes you have to cut the tails but you won't get a tube that is close without cutting the tails. The tube molds from Angling AI are full multi cavity injection and are the best shooting tube molds I have seen yet, from soft to hard compounds and no salt to LOADED with salt they shoot perfect every time.
  7. Problem is Del was doing this long before Lurecraft started carrying his molds. He keeps up with Kim's orders because he understands that without her right now he wouldn't have much business.
  8. mounted on their press it works absolutely fine.
  9. Get a small container of worm oil and dip the tail of every 3-4th tube in it before you cut. Once you fall into a rhythm there is no reason why you couldn't cut 300-500 tubes in an hour consistently. I don't dip tubes, I inject them in Angling AI's tube molds which requires you to hand cut the tails, after buying every tube mold available today this I found to be the fastest most consistent method of making a large quantity of tubes, as long as you watch how you place the tube in the cutting press you will be able to cut consistent tails. Again, lubing the tails is the key to not tearing them.
  10. Only when you are using fluorescent colours. pretty much all fluorescent colours need to be added cold, all others can be added when you want.
  11. these twin injectors are made specifically for their Shooting Star system, you will not be able to shoot laminates if you buy the injector by itself.
  12. wouldn't make a difference (real metal flake has been some of the best I have used actually) it isn't metal that arcs in a micro, it is very shiny reflective surfaces.
  13. if they do the 60 bags of cross tails I have in my shop don't smell like anything but plastic. they could, I don't know. they are very soft and salty. could be many different reasons.
  14. nothing, they do salt the daylights out of theirs and they are very soft. May not have had anything to do with the bait, could have been fishing it slightly different without knowing it.
  15. unless you plan on painting a ton of baits i would just get a couple small cans of the SB Coat clear, retarder and thinner. you will need the retarder to spray the clear in an airbrush, and obviously thinner to clean up. it works great, instead of the thick clear coat you get from dipping the bait, it gives you a very thin clear coat. I would not think of using this stuff anywhere you don't have a very good ventilation system though and inside a house would be 100% out of the question for me, this stuff stinks. of course a respirator is mandatory regardless of ventilation.
  16. never had an issue with any flake. I use a lot of .0125 string flake.
  17. I use it straight up, I have a bottle of the retarder but haven't needed it.
  18. you need to check the temps on them with a thermometer to ensure they are the same, as if they are different they will not laminate properly
  19. I always get something similar from shooting a cold mold too fast.
  20. make sure your plastic is mixed up real good. shake the daylights out of it, when you think its mixed good, shake more
  21. No they aren't. The way I understand it they aren't selling to those that are cutting it and reselling it, only to those manufacturers that are buying to use it. There are a couple other manufacturers to buy the raw pigment from but they only sell in 8lb quantities (Colortech will sell 2lbs) and some of these colours are over $100/lb.
  22. LakeSide Bait Molds sells MF Super Soft and accepts paypal. http://lsbaits.com/Liquid-Plastic-Super-Soft-Gallon-LPG1001SS.htm
