  1. Guess again, WD40 is a petroleum based product. Taken directly from their website "Myth: WD-40 contains fish oil. Fact: Consumers have told us over the years that they have caught some of the biggest fish ever after protecting their fish hooks and lures withWD-40. We believe this legend came from folks assuming that the product must contain fish oil since it appears to attract fish. Sorry Charlie®, it just ain’t so. WD-40 Company has taken steps to respect and conserve the environment, and encourages its users to do the same. While WD-40can be used to help protect fishing equipment from rust and corrosion, WD-40 Company does not recommend using WD-40 to attract fish."
  2. the baits will absorb the scent, so there shouldn't be an issue
  3. Depends on the scent, Dinp based scents will last longer than others as the plastic will absorb them best. I have opened bags that have been sitting for over a year that smell like i bagged them yesterday.
  4. mix of a very light colour, hilite, then painted and add eyed then dip in clear
  5. Call Kim and order it, she has Del by the short and curly's and i bet she could get it faster than you could get it from Del directly.
  6. How hot was your plastic?
  7. the shipping and brokerage will be rolled into an inflated retail price
  8. it is made by the same guy that makes Bear's Injector/heating block/temp controller. I am waiting to see what has been changed and if certain issues have been dealt with or not.
  9. Those baits are available from a couple companies, one is Poor Boys. they are bought from a large injection company, usually 1,000 - 5,000 pieces per colour at a time. It isn't a hand pour or hand injection mold.
  10. Worm oil is Dinp, one of the plasticizers present in the plastic we use, there is no way you are going to make it yourself. you can mix and match scents from companies like SpikeIt and get your own flavours.
  11. I bet that is part of your problem. The myth is that metal will burn and catch fire in the microwave, but the reality is it is anything shiny and reflective. try it again but add it after, once dispersed in hot plastic it will suspend better than raw plastic. I have used it in the past without any issue.

  13. "You folks just don't get it. if you want to keep salt suspended ,you need a heated pot w/ a stirror" you said the words your self. I wouldn't assume I am running an off the shelf injection setup either (wouldn't hold up to continuous daily production ) there are ways to use a lot of salt in your plastic and NOT use a pot, to sit here and tell anyone that they NEED to invest in a pot and stirring unit in order to make baits with a lot of salt in them is insane. To the Original poster, please keep at it. Add your salt after your plastic has been heated, add it slow while stirring. you will have to periodically stir, usually before filling the injector, keep at it and you should get the hang of it.
  14. Funny that it seemed to work just fine last night. I have the same injector setup you have, and run it damn near daily, but if i have an order for 25 Sticks in a colour i don't keep an inventory of i sure as hell am not firing up a pair of presto pots for that. Why would you sit here and chastise someone fairly new to the hobby for not spending nearly $300 per pot/mixer when it plain and simply isn't needed. It it fairly easy to keep salt suspended in plastic with nothing more than a stirring utensil and an injector.
  15. dont add the salt until its ready to shoot.
  16. I asked the guys at Calhoun a while ago, and i was told no, softener has some additives that worm oil doesn't have. most artificial scents use Dinp (worm oil) as a base.
  17. Most companies offering molds will include a single cavity prototype mold to verify you are happy with the final product. Yes, custom molds can be many times the cost of an off the shelf mold.
  18. was just gonna say, the bait the OP is referring to is not a swimbait.
  19. That's an Xzone Slammer, Hand Poured.

  22. Far from smoke, I can even see that in the pic. Going to have to get a bag to see what it is LOL.
  23. and they use computer controlled electric actuators to slide them as well.
  24. it appears that the entire product line they offer is straight out of D&J Plastic's catalogue, I would go as far as to say they dont make anything, just repackage.
  25. if its from lockett lures outlett those a bought from a very large manufacturer, not from bass tackles molds (which look like a copy of this bait) from the looks of everything on their sight. if its not from that company then ignore my comments LOL.
