    Glass Beads

well the HD stuff is a paste of silica from what i understand, and the glass beads are fine individual pieces that are translucent. glass vs sand
  5. i'm not educated on the topic but my guess is that like most health issues these days, it's blown out of proportion. yes it is definitely not good for you, but what is? everything causes cancer, we just dont know enough about these things to really know the full details. do your best to ventilate your area, keep your kids and pregnant wives away from it.
  6. the cobra craw may work, not sure how well those claws will paddle only being 1/2 submerged. the 708 doesn't look like it has enough surface area to float well, hard to tell. the 702 works well because the claws are so wide that it floats fairly easy and also kicks up a lot of water.
  7. rough estimate they will take about 2oz to fill 4 cavity mold. you could probably almost double if you were doing single colors and re-melting the sprues so that's basically 250 craws per gallon. would be lower if you were doing tons of different colors. or more if you were doing the same color. (there's always left over plastic in the injector and bottom of your cup/pot)
  8. the 702 craw works for top water weightless
  9. they are both similar, the 706 is more compact and the 702 has bigger flapper claws. i personally think the 702 has better action at slower speeds, but they both have their time and place.
  10. put in some softener / worm oil, add a stainless nut, microwave with the top off for a few seconds.
  11. that wont get it high enough (350 degrees) but itll prolong the cooling process
  12. copper pipe joints are your friend, sockets work well too. after the mold is filled, put the fitting over the sprue and top it off
  13. the plate itself is probably what did it. a griddle is a better option, but still not advised.
  14. well first off, trial and error is a huge part of what makes this so much fun & rewarding. im not sure what the huddleston feels like, most of the plastic you will find is going to be within the same range. most plastic retailers offer a soft, medium, and hard mix. medium is going to be the most popular and will feel like most of the plastics you'll find out there from strike king, yum, zoom, ri. if the huddleston is softer than your normal baits, get a mix of soft plastic but also buy some softener on top of that. if its harder, get hard with hardener. but i'm guessing medium would do the trick. research on these forums and experimenting yourself is going to give you a journey that is worth as much as the destination if you ask me. a lot of people on here have good ways of doing it, but to be honest there are always new and better ways, find what suits you the best.
  15. side inject is better IMO for 2 reasons. It's easier to vent the baits out the side rather than out the bottom. When you fill it, the glitter will settle on the outside of the bait rather than falling inward into the middle of the bait.
  16. i think it depends on the size, but like someone said. unless you are adding a ton, it'll be fine. smaller flake will harden the baits, larger will weaken i believe.
  17. the problem with vertical pouring/injecting on stick baits is the salt will settle to the bottom. if you're going to inject, make a new mold set up to side inject. the salt will still settle, but it'll settle evenly over the length of the bait
  18. black and purple are the only ones i've found useful
  19. i use hex for everything except black 062 its all personal preference.
  20. hard to tell from pics. looks like watermelon with small red small black large black and straight black on the top (or bottom, whichever side is which)
  21. over 100 aluminum molds here over 20+ of the 15lb POP bags my problem is still young in existence too!
  22. thanks guys! its more time consuming than anything, not super skillful LOL send em my way if you dont wanna make em!
