bojon has not signed onto the site in over a year now good bless him and hope he's doing well he was a very nice guy that help all who asked.
  2. yep Bob's site is done BT carries then.
  3. I respectfully disagree with the idea that salt won't have a fish holding factor as my baits absorb water weight which indicates the the salt is eroding with time in the water, now does that mean that fish can taste well let's just say I leave that to a higher authority as I know of no-one who can speak fish.
  4. x2 Jim personally emailed me about a backorder and order was delivered as promised, will use again for sure!
  5. I used Bondo fiberglass resin the used for boats for soft plastics worked great and easily worked with sandpaper and dremmel.
  6. CCM/do-it has a few baits similar in the crappie section not quite the same but close, also read about the HDA they sell it is suppose to really toughen up a bait.

    Brush Hog ?

lurecraft didn't seem to have it listed but go with basstackle you'll be happy with both the mold and the customer service.
  8. I asked about this a few years ago when Sears came out with a small wood cnc machine but i was thinking about making a block of bondo resin and using that in place of wood would like to hear if anyone has one and if it's possible.
  9. smoke your mold and turn temp down around 7ish if your running a Lee pot.

    Test Tubes

get yourself a small paint roller and some round fabric cutting blades separate with washers to you desired width for each tail and your good to go. p.s blades are pricey.
  11. just curious did you cut one in half? sounds interesting as I make a solid tube myself.
  12. interesting, could you make a mold out of lead? would be doable for the masses.
  13. don't know works for me I made lifting blades that pull plastic from the bottom and redistribute the plastic.
  14. I used a rotisserie motor with great results you need a gear reduced motor.
  15. All good advice also have you smoked the mold? that can help with the lead to flow smoothly.
  16. I'm a little surprised that he's still acting this way I thought by not selling materials anymore that he could start providing better service but guess not.
  17. yeah it is a shame his molds are as good as any out there the business model is what is flawed customer service is non existent.
  18. did you ask Mike if he new anybody he seems to be quite ready to help even if it means sending elsewhere.
  19. sorry to hear you had a bad experience there elbo but stand in line as my man del's reputation precede's him
  20. Chip have a look at northland fishing tackle don't know if they have the color your looking for but they look similar.

    Firetails

k here's what I've learned doing this, shoot the tails and you can snip them off right in the mold leaving them for the next shot and should be done quickly you should shoot the body hot more than normal but the real key it's give it time when I shot my first laminates I was pulling on them way too soon and as you they would just pull right apart, gave it a few extra minutes and voila they cured nice and the seam was stronger than the rest of the bait, kinda like a weld acts.
  23. not quite sure what you mean when you say mold but unless you have a cnc machine I think a home built 2 piece tube mold is out of the question. now doing dipping rods thats a different story do a search there's plenty on that subject.
  24. I agree go with the real mold a shaky head is bound to hang you up in the rocks, the pencil style is designed for that and the line twist is very frustrating.
  25. do a search for powder water it's on here somewhere I have no personal experience with it but might work for what you want to do, but I think smallmouthaholic has the right idea and much easier.
