  1. Use the link 4 posts up. Or search " Lathe-turned blank with shifting ballast" on YouTube.
  2. Try this. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/index.php?/topic/23348-another-lure-design-with-shifting-internal-weights/?hl=+weightshifter%20+lures
  3. I believe Demai has a video of this type of system here and on YouTube. Also a very ingenious way of securing the hook hanger below it. He uses the straw method BobP mentioned. And his balls don't get glued either.
  4. Super glue, epoxy, acrylic clear even Minwax wood hardener. Just be sure to sand it a bit before you spray.

    Brush Types

I'm working along the same lines as Arkie and Joe and others with the cheapy from WalMart. I just use the new brush to mix the D2T and apply then toss it when it sets up. Is there an advantage to using the stick from the old brush as opposed to using the new one?

    Holographic Bluegill

That thing is sweet! Is that a foil or holo paint?
  7. I just borrow my daughters glittered fingernail polish. Not sure if that is a problem for the D2T but it seems to work.
  8. Do any of you try to use scents on a hardbait? Or does it even stick?
  9. Also a separate category for "home built" and "paint job only" in the hardbait section.
  10. Look in the aquarium section too. I found some 97 cent fishing nets like they use to get a fish out of the tank. Nice small honeycomb pattern.
  11. I like to make a shallow recess in the bait with a brad point bit. This recess creates a little dam that is in a perfect circle that holds my base coat into shape. I do have to build up paint or use a simple filler to fill the brad point hole. the base coat is usually thin and i use a small wire to insure that it gets to the edges. I use a 10/0 brush. I like to use a black fingernail polish for the pupil because it will mound up to help the 3D effect. It sometimes takes two coats to build the mound. After it dries a small drop of 5 minute epoxy is placed on the eye, again the recess helps contain the glue in the shape of the eye. That is the part that gets a bit tricky.
  12. Extraordinary work. I saw your facebook page a saw some "jigging sticks" What are they?

    Fat-T Lota-lota.

That's cool. But I think your wife is going to be mad when she sees paint all over her doily!
  18. Always love to just stare at your paint jobs Joe.

    Carp

    Lookin fine.
  20. I think you may have stumbled onto something. And a good contact!
  21. It sounds good. It's very strong and as flexible as paper. I do wonder about how it would hold up though. I have seen old Tyvek break apart after it sits out in the weather. The UV from the sun tears it apart. On residing jobs some old house wrap dry and brittle.

    PvcGst2nd

Nice. A LOT nicer than my second bait! Be careful, it's addictive.
