  1. Via cad v7 pro on ebay 35.00.... Open source stuff sucks imo... Fusion, cloud based, Not for me just yet...
  2. Exactly... Simple facts... That 95% of people are unaware of. Tax man don't go by the premise, easier to ask for forgiveness then permission. LOL
  3. Even the excise tax laws say you pay on baits value if you give them away for free.
  4. Deductible yes, But still comes off your bottom line. It is still a expense of your gross sale number.
  5. I have found that 95% of tax professionals have zero clue that there is even an excise tax on fishing lures.
  6. The irs may not come after you for making a few bucks on baits, What ya gotta watch for is the excise tax. When you start advertising and running websites, your on the hook. I don't know how guys are selling 10 count bags for 2.50 and paying of .25 in excise tax myself. When you sell the baits you manufacture retail, you get the hammer, paying it on retail pricing. You really cant even wholesale it to a retail company you own legally. I have heard minimum fine is 10,000.00
  7. 3d printed molds have a shelf life, Unlike cnc aluminum molds. I myself thought about printing prototypes, for the time and even the cost I can just knock one out in aluminum and be done with it, Makes it easier for me to go to a 60 or 80 cavity production mold if I got all the feeds, speeds, toolpaths worked out anyhow. They have there place I guess. Just not for me.
  8. In truth, Im pretty sure Real Sencos are made from MF plastic, You may start there.
  9. Top inject is ideal on a swimbait when it is machined on its side. so you can shoot each cavity individually, I think top inject sucks for the most part on any other molds. with the right plastisol, Ie not the stuff that heats the thinnest, you don't have issues with salt settling out flake etc settling.
  10. At 150-200.00 you will get exactly what you pay for lol....
  11. the t couple should be fine, It will just alter the actual temp. Puf Pvf the chinglesh letters on there, it adjust the offset of actual and reading. Learn it again. These things keep learning all the time. You can manually adjust the P I and D settings, but you really need to know what you are doing, I dont generally fool with them.
  12. You actually used mold release on a polished production mold? Did you need to for some reason? I have yet to use any release agent on aluminum.
  13. Did you let it learn in its entirety? The light quit flashing? You will never see the same temp as the liquid being on the pot itself, Only close. On a presto I would not put it near the heat source IMO. Are you using a ssr relay? These things will keep learning, I suggest you teach it 1/2 full, this way it is under a few degrees full, and over a few degrees at low level. Teach it with plastisol, your wasting your time with anything else. You can use the same gallon till it is brown if you need to wont hurt anything. You need to adjust the puf value as well, Against a candy thermometer etc. My best guess as i have did about 40 of these so far, is your true temp will be off +10 -10, Just the heat sink compound alone will alter temp.
  14. sounds like its not mirror smooth then.
  15. The essential molds are rough, your not gonna cure it with liquid. The video above is the cover up for it...
  16. If its a essential mold, it is not gonna due any good. you have to do the paint trick on those.
  17. When you want to buy the best, It takes the longest.
  18. They look good, but some guys don't wanna see any micro bubbles in finished baits, big turn off for them. Hard to really see in them pictures.
  19. Not close enough for me, Id like to see a transparent one up in the light.
  20. Likely because you need pre heated plastic, "Pot Cooked" Current production you do not.
  21. I wish he showed a better close up, for some reason, non of the big production guys do it.
  22. Air could be removed with proper venting if it wasn't spinning. Have you tried to successfully do this yet? As soon as the plastic touches the spinning mold, its gonna whip it like a blender.
  23. Air is gonna be the killer spin casting hot plastic, reason they dont do it in production. and all your salt and glitter will likely end up in the tail.
