  1. I wouldn't think it is activating with the plastic, the molds don't. If you examine your molds closely you will also find some manufacturers use less grade aluminum in building them. Good idea on epoxying them,
  2. RTV silicone is suppose to bond to nothing but itself. That being said, I dunno about regular caulking silicone.
  3. They are aluminum correct? Are they being used in saltwater? Generally 5052 has better corrosion resistance. Than 6061. 6061 is generally found in machined products.
  4. If your in Nashville, Phoenix Metals in Spring hill.
  5. Oops maybe this will work. Im prettys sure im gonna add a sheet of stainless on the bench and shelve. Apdriver inspired me to do so.
  6. Im not finished yet. But im basicly hooding the entire bench.
  7. Mcmasterr carr. Any industrial supply company.
  8. Good point. I dont use salt much myself. I could see were if you wanted a heavily scented salt bait. You could scent the salt prior to. Logical anyhow.
  9. Imo your waisting time and money cooking your scent in. I think in a closed system scent is a different story. But open pot is a waiste imo. Scent before bagging.
  10. With urethane you actually put it inside a pressure pot. It sets to fast to degass in vacuum.
  11. Jeff I will agree you guys have some good plastic, what happened to your colorant?
  12. There is not a brand out there that wont burn. or damage your respiratory system. I don't understand why people spend 50.00 a gallon to do the same job, I guess its like smoking cheap cigarettes vs name brand.

  15. It is impresive. I went just about 2 hrs the other day. You guys challenged me now. What temp? Im gonna try it for at least 8. My new setup I can keep it within 2 degrees consitantly. Im always up to try something. Lmao.
  16. Painter. What are you taking temps with? I shocked myself comparing my electronic controller and a candy thermo to a infared gun. My hf infared was 12 degrees off.
  17. If people are willing to pay. Companies will keep making better products. On price I was just refering to the clearasol. I would assume more r and d more cost to the consumer. I agree personal prefrence 100%. I would imagine most of the large companies are selling huge quantitys to major manufacturers. They wouldnt be in business so long if they were not.
  18. So u heated the same batch for 13 hrs straight?
  19. Mike, what is the cost on it. I have found with anything in life. There is always better. Just depends on your wallets depth.
  20. Im not self promoting anything, Im asking a legitimate question. Thank you for your thoughts.
  21. Do you think there is yellowing here. I heated a gallon of plastic today just to test a few things, took 30 minutes to get hot (350 degrees, start to finish in presto pot, no pre heat), and I took a few pics in the mean while, added color after 1 hr 25 minutes and shot a few baits, had plastic hot for 1 hr 56 minutes total. after reaching 350 I backed the heat off to 320. after first pic i raised heat back to 340. My temps are very very accurate, Used 3 different measuring devices. This was done with a stiring system, ran non stop for 1 hr 56 minutes. Dipping device is a bright white plastic measuring spoon. 63 minute pic is 33 minutes after getting 350. 1hr 12 is 42 minutes after inital 350 heat. raising temp back to 340 from 320. Last pic shows after 1hr 28 minutes I could easily lay my palm on the cover, It was about 125 degrees I suspect. Edited for Content.
  22. You could make a resin shell to go around the rtv if your looking for support.
