  1. I read a thread on here from a few years ago about a Del-Mart mold that closely resembled the chigger craw. I looked on their site and found this and I assume it the one people were talking about. does anybody have this mold? Is the action similar to a chigger craw? I don't know why but even with the flat claws a chigger craw will thumo hard enough that you can feel it up the rod handle. I'm looking for a mold that has as near to the same result as that. Have I found it in this mold? Thanks http://www.del-mart.com/shop/product.php?productid=17215&cat=400&page=1
  2. I'm really liking this bead media! I poured these and really like them a lot! They have bead media in the body and the claws have extra floating additive in them. The result is a craw you can fish Texas rigged without having to use a weight! It is heavy enough to get down to the bottom with the claws waving around to get the fish attention. I poured these ones clear with black flake as more of an experiment to see how clear the bait would turn out. I did a 1 tbsp. to 2 ounce of plastic ratio. This particular color will be used in the river for smallies. I fished a couple of these yesterday in a different color and they absolutely hammered it! The only downside I'm seeing is it makes the plastic more firm, but I imagine adding a little softener should offset that disadvantage.
  3. How long should the baits be bagged before using them to give the enough time to absorb he scent?
  4. I shot these baits tonight. One has glass beads (2 tbps to 6 ounces of plastic) and does not. Can you tell which is which? Personally I'm very pleased!
  5. I'm actually pouring some swimbaits tonight that I'm going to use tomorrow. I'm doing two different colors. With the first color I packed them in a bag and added the scented worm oil to the bag. For the second color I added scent to the plastic itself. One thing I've noticed is that the bait feel softer than the first ones.
  6. I use MF plastic and MF scented worm oil. My question is: Is it more effective to put the worm oil right into the plastic or in the bag after the worms are packed? I have just been adding it to the bag but I've noticed over a few weeks it loses its scent. I only add a few drops to a bag of 6-12 baits...do I just need to add more? Thanks!
  7. Yes I have the 80 grit Black Bull. I'm experimenting with different ratios of media to plastic but I already know I m going to like it much better than the HD Sinking Additive! Whoever it was who first came up with this idea is a genius!
  8. I just poured some sticks using a 2 tablespoon to 4 ounce ratio of media to plastic. they look really good. Much better than if I had used salt. The plastic wasn't nearly as clear as I had expected though maybe I used too much media. Also while shooting the baits I noticed the glass was grinding inside the injector. Is that normal? has anyone noticed any additional wear to the injector or mold from shooting glass into it?
  9. L I just picked up 50lbs at Tractor Supply for $29.99. It'll take forever to use all of it up!
  10. So it basically does the same thing ad the HD sinking additive from caney creek without clouding the bait? I'm picking some up today!
  11. WOW, That is awesome! Does it effect durability at all?
  12. LOL...Now I feel really dumb!
  13. I just got some sinking softner in today. Ive never used it before and wanted to try it out. I was thinking of using it in my stick baits since I should be able to get nicer translucent colors vs. using salt or the HD sinking additive. My question is what ratio should I use to regular MF plastic to get a similar sink rate as the Yamamotos? I am just looking for a starting point. Thanks!
  14. I believe this might be this exact mold of the bait you showed in the pic. http://www.basstackle.com/673_Swimbait_p/673-kj-5.htm
  15. I tried that last night. Its a good idea but my swimbaits are ribbed and it just looked a little off. I think it would be a great technique for smooth sided swimers.
  16. I just got an Email from them stating they are not going out of business. Just clearing out some current inventory to make room for some new designs. Looking forward to what they have coming up!
  17. They don't have much left. Are they going out of business?
  18. I warm each color in the microwave separately. So they are probably slightly different. The consistency appears to be the same.
  19. I have the Bass Tackle Twinjector but I can't seem to be able to get a good 50/50 laminate with my swimbaits. I've watch some of the YouTube videos but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions or tips on how to get this yo work? Thanks!
  20. Anybody have recipe for Sexy shad. Not sure how I could do this color without doing a two color laminate. Anybody have recipe for Sexy shad. Not sure how I could do this color without doing a two color laminate.

    7 inch fluke mold

Looking to get a 7 inch fluke mold. 2 or more cavities or multiple single cavity molds. If anyone has one or two or three to get rid of please let me know. If I don't get a response within a few days I'm just going to buy one new. Hoping to be able to save a few bucks first though. Thanks
  22. Anybody here pour the 7 inch fluke from lake side bait molds? I'm wondering if anyone can weigh one for me so I can figure out how many I can get out of a gallon of regular MF plastic. I have never shot a bait as large as this and I imagine it will use up plastic pretty quickly. Most of my swimbaits are shot with super soft. But I'm thinking with a bait this size I might need to use a firmer plastic? Thanks!
  23. The new mold shoots great! I wasn't bashing them at all. Just asking questions. I sent the first mold back to them and they told me it wouldn't seat properly. All is good and Do-It is a top notch company! I have already reordered from them and I plan to order more from them in the future. Before Accusing me of bashing please read thru the thread first...
  24. Yes it dies settle pretty quick.for mist colors I use about a drop per ounce of plastic as a starting point and add more if needed. It just seems like I needed to add quite a lot.
  25. This is a novice question! I just got some MF Pearl liquid colorant. When I mix it up it just looks like white. Do I need to use a lot of it to get the pearl effect? I'm trying to get pearl white.
