  1. Wow am I ever lazy! I just have bags of tabs thrown in boxes LOL! I fish through the boxes untill I find what I'm looking for. If I can't find it I'll order more.
  2. Just moved into a new house. This one has a room that will be my dedicated bait making room. Just moved in this weekend and I just picked up a few new tables to work off of. It should be a great setup after a put up a few selves and everything is put away. In my excitement I decided I needed to pour a few jigs for myself. My lead pot usually leaks a bit when it first heats up and I always have to keep an eye on it. Today just after I plugged in the pot I got a phone call and had to leave the room to get a clear cell signal. Well, the conversation got a little heated and I forgot about my lead pot... Until I started smelling melting plastic. I went back to my bait room to see that my lead pot had in fact been leaking and it had melted a hole in one of my brand new tables. A now I have a mess and a brand new table with a large hole in it. Moral of the story...never walk away from your lead pot. Learn from my stupidity. And plastic folding tables WILL melt, so put something under your pot if you use a table like this. I have a piece of granite counter top that my pot usually sits on.
  3. Bass tackle has a nice starter kit. $138 http://www.basstackle.com/product_p/starterkit-inject.htm
  4. Thats why I had to wait for them. They needed to have more for plating before I could have mine done.
  5. Good call on the SB paint. I'll have to give that stuff a try!
  6. You can see the difference between the gold played blades and the brass lacquered blades and for the price, you should. The ones I bought were size 4 Worth.
  7. Honestly I don't remember exactly and the price will vary by style and size. I think the ones I got were about $1 a piece. I got the turtle back blades
  8. I think I only ordered 50. They don't make you purchase a minimum quantity.
  9. How is is the worm paint applied? Dipped, brushed, sprayed?
  10. I recently purchased some gold plated blades from worth. I'm very impressed with them. They are beautiful. it took about a month from the time I ordered them to receive them though. but if your not in a hurry for them they are an excellent option.
  11. OK thanks guys. If they bleed at all I can't sell them. I'll just use it on my personal baits.
  12. I just picked up some spike it yesterday. I've been wanting to give it a try for a while. I dipped a few of my baits. I really like the look. My question is about the long term. If I package them together will the color bleed into the other baits in the pack? and with just dipping the tail, will the color bleed in the rest of the bait over time?
  13. The water based stuff requires the bait to be sealed afterward. The solvent based paint doesn't require a seal.
  14. I'm moving from Ohio to Ontario. I'm trying to find a plastisol source in Canada. Shipping is bad enough when shipping from the US to the US. I don't even want to think about how much it will cost to ship across the border. Where do you Canadian bait makers get your plastisol from? Is there any place in Canada that sells it? Thanks
  15. I'll usually add a little heat stabilizer to the clear plastic I use for dipping since you will reheat it many times before you finally use it up. And just the regular plastic you use for the baits your making works just fine for dipping. I do like it to be as hot as I can get it without scorching so it applies the thinnest coat as possible. The heat stabilizer helps with that.

  17. Jacobs baits have a couple grub molds
  18. Thanks for that! I went ahead and ordered 5 gallons from Baitjunkys. I'm not sure which brand of plastic they sell but I'm open to try other brands anyway and their prices are good. Anybody know which brand they sell?
  19. I'm trying to find an online dealer of plastisol that also accepts PayPal. The site I used buy my plastic from no longer sells it. I'm looking for a place that sells in quantities of 5 gallons. I use MF plastic for the most part. Zieners has it but with shipping, they seem a little on the high side. I'd like to find it for a similar cost to what I could get it from MF for. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  20. I just got the 5 inch Jerkbait 3 color system from him last week. I have to say it is awesome!

    Bat Jig

I got a chance to hit the water with the kayak this morning after breaking my way though the ice! The Bat jig is awesome! Especially with that little wire weedguard. it made its way through brush and garbage better than I expected. Its is the perfect rig for these small swimbaits.
  22. What's the deal with Zman plastics? This is the second time in two days I've seen someone mention them in regards to the screw locs. I haven't used Zman baits before myself.
