  1. Dieter uses these for Asp but I'm going to try them for Baja beach fishing. Red head is 1 oz and the other is 1.5 oz. Roosterfish and Jacks like fast moving surface lures and these should fill the bill. We'll see when we go down next month. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/gallery/image/13956-dieter-style-pipe-lures/ bill

    dieter style pipe lures

Made these up for Mexican beach fishing.

    Gliding Trout & Jacktail

Like em both but especially the pike. bill
  4. Sorry Nova, it was meant in a joking manner. bill
  5. Ok so I know it's not the most politically correct but wishing you and yours a great holiday season with tons of tackle under the tree. bill
  6. I wear Glacier Glove sun gloves they work well. Ebay has em for about twenty bucks. bill
  7. Just got back from a week in San Jose Del Cabo. Wife rode horses on the beach while fished. Caught a small ( 2# ) Roosterfish, some Jacks and had a couple of Sierra Mackerel on. Fun, nothing fights like saltwater. Going back again early next year. Didn't find the hot spot & rig till the last day when the tackle was packed up and the wife and I were walking on the beach. Lots of Canadians down for the whole winter. They were using 2-3" Hoochies with a casting bubble. Strangely enough lots of guys on other forums recommended nothing but LARGE plugs & spoons. So I brought some and never had a hit on em. 1/2 oz Champs and Krocs were what I got everything on. bill
  8. Another nice one Mark. bill
  9. Some very innovative stuff in the new pics as usual. bill
  10. There is a decal softener called Solvaset. Mostly used by plastic modelers and model train nuts. May help to snug them down. bill
  11. Well it's been really cold in the garage, too cold for turning baits lately jso these experiments may wait awhile. bill
  12. Happened to see a Musky glider on the web yesterday with the same setup. Got me thinking of doing the same with a couple of the WLure minnow baits I have either on the middle or rear hangar. bill
  13. Guess , you'd need to find out , what works best for you as well ? Greetings , Dieter And that's half the fun. The guys at that lake do well on buzzbaits for the pike. bill
  14. Thanks Dieter. I had seen it but sometimes it's not so easy to find your older youtube videos. How successful was your Tallywacker on pike? There's a lake around here that has some 40 inch plus pike and most I've seen are good sized. Always the Muskies too. :-) I'll need some surface or very shallow lures for both lakes. bill
  15. Well you could consider getting one of these videos: http://www.johnscrankbait.com/Pages/BaitGallery.aspx Or use a wash of color over scale embossed foil. Wonder if a person could ink some mesh and touch the bait to that? Maybe spatter paint through mesh? Good idea with the glue Ben. bill
  16. Thanks Dieter, that made it perfectly clear. bill

    Crane Baits

Sweet! I'm sure the pike & musky down here would eat em up. bill
  18. Might want to consider warming it up a bit with raw sienna or similar. bill
  19. Thanks Mark. I had seen that and I'm guessing about 75 degrees to vertical. Lazy guy that I am I was thinking of using Indiana blades. bill
  20. Hey guys can you tell me what the blade angle is on the Charlie Fox Whirligig lure? Want to make up a couple during the off season. bill
  21. Thanks for the input guys I'll give that a shot. The .047 was way to flimsy. bill
  22. I'm making up some 4 1/2" Pfleuger Globe style topwaters. I hate the idea of trying to bend the eye on the front loop when the plug is assembled. They're for pike & musky so I need something bend resistant since the head of the plug rotates on the wire shaft. Think .062 Annealed would be strong enough? How about .047 hardened? Either wire is break resistant enough but I'm worried about the wire between body sections bending. bill
  23. Thanks Glenn, I know you had mentioned them in the Hardbaits Muskie thread. I was doing a little searching after that and I saw some good info on the Booyah 3/4 oz Pikee spinnerbait for Muskie. I should try a couple. bill
  24. Ok, I'll settle for snag less! Fish a rocky fairly shallow lake from shore most times using inline 1/2 - 2/3 oz 5" spinners. Snag up a fair amount so a couple of questions. Will spinnerbaits hang up less? What size single hook for the inlines of this size? Using colorado and french blades, buzzer maybe even if they don't break the surface? Seems tinsel tails run deeper and hang up more. Marabou runs shallower but is not durable. Saddle hackle is in between. Anybody have any weedguard ideas? All comments appreciated. bill
