  1. Hey guys and gals. I have made up a pile of spinner baits, I had a customer tell me I was putting the first blade (one on clevice) on backwards. Said he had to take it off and turn it around cause it would not spin. Any body havbe a photo of the wrong way and one of the proper way to put one of these blades on. I always assumes you would put the blade on with the cup of the blade facing down. But I may have no clue of what I am doing so a phot of one would be great

  3. frig, I really hoped there was a fix to this, cause after awhile the drip makes a volcano and starts to splatter, I am pretty fast at pouring and that is a pain in the ass that slows me down.
  4. Does anyone else have an issue with there melting pot dripping. I have 2 of them and they both do it. It really hurts when it splatters on your skin
  5. Luremaking.com is where I got mine from
  6. I used the ultra minnow spinner, I could not pour a jig with that mold to save my life, Then I smoked it, I have a 90% success rate. the 10% is my bad, not the mold lol
  7. Hey, looking for canadian suppliers for skirts and hooks. anybody know of any. Other than Luremaking.com I dont have anything against them. They are fantastic, just looking for options
  8. I might be nutz here, but you guys missed the biggest tip. SMOKE your mold. I always do this, works fantastic, Preheat the mold by pouring lead on the front and back of the closed mold ( the faces) and I pour lead into the molds and let it sit for about a min. But smoke that mold man, Smoke it.
  9. I would think that the tension from a 5 pound bass would be more of a hazard than the weight of the jig itself. If this were true then everytime you caught a fish on a powder painted jig it would cut the line. Maybe you are getting your jig to hot and putting to much paint on it. But just the theory of the jig being to heavy and the friction of the paint on the eyelet cutting the line doesnt make sense to me. Could be wrong but dont think so
  10. Call me dumb if you want, but I dont get what you are asking
  11. Anybody know of a canadian supplier? Customs can be a b#@*&. I currently use Luremaking.com, but there variety is very limited
  12. OK. Here goes. I am new to making spinners. I have been making jigs for 8 years. I got into spinner baits because I was sick of cheaply made expensive baits you buy at the major sporting good stores. The elastic they use to tie the skirts allways seem to be rotten. So I hand tie my skirt tabs on with an all purpuse thread, then I put a clear nail polish on the thread ( not sure why i do the nail polish, but I heard it was a good idea) So my question is How do you guys attach your silicone skirts? hand tie, tie strap or the old school elastics
  13. hey, I am new to making spinnerbaits, I noticed you guys seem to be using mostly 3 tabs of skirting. I was only using 2. is 3 the norm? I am have been making them for bass, not musky, wondering if that would be different
