Hello. Does anyone know how to put glitter on a resin casted lure without making all the carved details like scales, gills, fins disappear? Put some kind of powder glitter into the mold with a brush before pouring the resin? I love glitter lures but I don't know how to make them. I have made a lot of glitter wood lures before, that is simple but totally another thing. Hope you understand my question. English is not my language . /Pickadoll lures

I just need all the details when Im going to paint. So I can get paint into the smallest details. As a top coat I can use my ordinary Lure epoxy cause it doesn't matter if the lure has a smooth finish without feeling the details with the hands. Yes, maybe mixing the epoxy with alcohol could do it. I found some other things I can try to to seal it. Nitrocellulose Terpentine Polyester Linseed oil fire . What do you think about those?

Hello guys. I mostly make resin plastic lures cause I want to make detailed lures with gills, mouth and scales. But I started to wonder how guys like Melosh fishing lures makes his detailed wood lures. He seals the wood with something without covering up all the details. I only got Epoxy clear coat like Envirotex and so on and that would cover up all the details before I can start to paint the lures. I need something that sucks into the wood 100%. Grain filler? oil? how do I do it? I upload a photo of one of my resin plastic lures so you get an idea on how I want to make my wood lures to look like. Hope you understand what I mean. I'm from Sweden and not that great at english hehe.

I am using Smooth On products both for resin and silicone. They are also selling coloring for the resin in many different colors. And they are not affecting the properties

You need to clean plastic lures before painting/coating! You can clean them in a dishmachine or by hand. Or use some kind of Silicone remover. And then you need to use a plastic primer before painting.

I made a silicone mold today for 4 grams split shot lead balls. I will see tomorrow if it will be a success !

Hello! I am weighting my resin lures with split shot lead sinkers. And I am wondering if somebody has ever done a RTV silicone mold for split shot sinkers? I have a lot of RTV silicone and a lot of lead to melt and its expensive to buy split shots all the time.
