  1. no doubt the original electric blue has a purple base & loaded up with blue glitter it doesn't look anything like the color the op asked about. I like the older version better myself so thanks for the info Josh.
  2. I just bought a hot knife at harbor freight so i know i'll be melting & adding diffrent parts to others to try something custom .
  3. I didn't know about it at first, but i've used baitjunkys, lureworks & baitplastics & i just ordered another 5 gallon batch of baitplastics plastic. The only thing i don't like is the jug it comes in & would rather it have the regular old small gallon jug mouth. The bag in the box from lureworks is great too in my opinion.
  4. Some plastisol seems to take longer to fully cure than others. I’ve made lures out of lureworks & Baitjunkys Calhoun both & used them the next day, but i’ve let the Baitplastics cure for a few days because what I used of it seems to Be stretchy & put off some oil for a few days until fully cured. They said they’d never heard of this happening & i’m going off of my experience only so I don’t know if anyone else has or not. Could have just been the batch I got. However I will say that after it fully cured that the lures made with it were excellent. Not for sure which brand I’m going with next time Baitplastics or Lureworks.
  5. I've never heated any of my molds at all, but after staying at it i did have to take a break to let them cool a little until a started stacking them like one not being shot then one i'm shooting then another not being shot etc. that completely ended the need to let the molds being shot cool because the ones not being shot were absorbing heat from them.Oil the rods every time you shoot. I just lightly brush some on with an art brush. I've also done laminate tubes with the 4" double dipper tube mold & had good luck. If you inject & then hand dip make sure the color your hand dipping is a little cooler then what you normally inject at which will let it build up quick. To thin & it will run & let the bottom color that you injected show through pretty easy When I was making shorter tubes i injected then attached a little spring clip to the ends that would be cut off later since i was making shorter ones anyway & then hand dipped & hung up on headless nails to cure after drying. I've got around 50 green pumpkin colored ones that need the tails cut now. My cutter is lurecrafts block attached to a heavier duty home made beefed up version similar to their press. I dip the end to be cut in worm oil then lay it under block, press handle down a couple times & the tails are cut & seperated pretty good. Doing hand dipped i just dip & spin around until plastic sets up then hang up to cure. Also look up horizontal dipping tube lures. There' s a video by get bent kayak fishing using dollar tent stakes from walmart & using very little plastic to do it that way which i'm thinking about trying myself.
  6. Yes they are I've done tubes both ways & never had that to happen.I've done single injection, hand dip & i've also injected & then hand dipped to make two color tubes & haven't had anything like that to happen, but i have an angling ai tube mold too so i don't know if that could be the difference.
  7. I'm getting ready to order more plastic now too.
  8. I tried a fan & it didn't work to good for me either so i open garage door in warm weather & in cold weather i don't stand directly over the heated plastic & open the entry door to air things out from time to time.
  9. I have the swimming & a medium chunk myself. I wish i'd have bought the super chunk style myself.
  10. Tiderunner, believe me when i say there sure ain't no shortage of colorant here either.
  11. I keep all left over colors separated by color in left over folgers cans under my bench. If colorant is needed i can add it to lighten or darken the basic colors with. There are some off the wall colors & colors i personally don't use much that i let a buddys son use to get whatever colors he wants if different than the usual. I will add small amounts in sometimes if the flake in the leftover won't effect the color i'm making to start with. I have thrown a bunch of left over that was from the bottom of the pyrex cups away a few times. Don't think i will again though.
  12. Yep Mike i'd already planned on adding them to my ned rig baits. Thanks
  13. Was thinking & wondered how many different lures you guys attach skirts to? I'm sure i'll be trying them on beavers, small worms, craws etc. The grub part of the mold will definitely get a lot of use, but i'm pretty sure the skirt mold will get a lot more use this summer with the experimenting i'll be doing. Them old smallmouth won't know what hit them or i mean they've hit until it's to late.
  14. Looks like this sickness has hit me again. I justordered the angling ai 4" heart throb grub mold & the 3.5 skirt mold. Looks like the smallmouth will be eating hula grubs & anythoing else i can attach the skirt to this summer at night.
  15. That's what's so great about tackleunderground. Somebody always has the answer. That's a good idea Anglingarcher.
  16. You could just do a single dip for thickness, but if you had a dual injector you could laminate them to get the results like in the picture. I have a 4 ounce ukranian dual injector i don't use since i bought my basstackle twinjector i'd sale you cheap or trade for other molds etc. to be able to do the laminates with.
  17. I definitely understand the financial part as most of us do because we've sunk a lot of money into this hobby. The shoot & slice tube mold Bob has at cnc molds & stuff is $99.00 & the angling ai molds aren't much higher. Depending on outer wall size wanted you can round off the ends on some 1/4, 5/16 or 3/8" bolts & dip them. Bohon who use to be a member here, but sadly passed away was a tube dipping wizard & made L brackets out of coat hanger wire for his dipping rods & dipped them horizontally instead of vertically to keep from having to use so much plastic. If you know someone that if you yourself don't you could have them drill out the ends of your bolts & insert & braze the coat hanger wires inside the holes to be able to do the same thing. You would be extremely cheap at making them like Bohon was too.
  18. You can hand dip pretty easy or inject the angling a I tube molds & cut tails by hand. I made a beefed up press sort of like lurecraft sales & attached the deluxe tail splitter to it & cut my tails. CMC molds & things also makes a very affordable tube mold, but you have to hand cut them too. I have the angling a I 4” double dipper tube mold & it’s top notch. If I buy another it will either be from angling a I or from Bob at cnc molds & things.

    Scents

I just spray the baits pretty heavy after bagging with bang crawfish spray. If it's suppose to be a cover scent to hide human smell then it should be the thing because it's some stout stinking stuff.
  20. I've ordered from them a bunch of times. You will not have a problem getting what you ordered. Great company to do business with.
  21. Man Curt i'm glad you got it back. That would be pretty bad if it was lost because i don't think we'd ever get all the recipies back there are here. . Thanks
