  1. Most any of them will make customs. I would look at the stickies on top of this page & start contacting them. It's going to be somewhat expensive, but atleast you know these guys won't be pumping out copies of your molds.I don't know of Curt at enforcermolds.com does or not, but cncmolds&stuff, baitjunkys, basstackle & ultramolds are where i'd check first.
  2. I'm probably get the rip shad eventually myself.
  3. I have the essential series ripper 3 " mold & don't have a problem with dents. My buddy does at times though because he gets his plastic a little to hot. If i'm around & keep him inline it's fine. lol
  4. OIR, you always post some neat ways of doing things. Thanks
  5. Good idea. I've looked for some cookie cutters that i like to do the backs with, but haven't found any yet.
  6. To me it seems like you have the right ideas & location to make things work out pretty danged well in my opinion. I'd want to open early & have a good breakfast bar/ deli too if it were me doing it. The bait making on the spot is a good idea too. Sounds like you'll be fine & good luck.
  7. I personally don't have any problem whatsoever with the essential series molds. Color recipies can be adjusted for artificial stone molds so no doubt they be on sandcast molds too. You guys steer everybody away from these molds when infact they're a great option for somebody wanting in as cheap as possible or just experimenting to see if they want to go all in.Personally i think nice & shiny is good, but absolutely not necessary & it's not like the baits these molds produce are all that dull either. Of course it's everybodys own choice on what they purchase.
  8. I may have been lucky i don't know, but i have several artificial stone jig trailer & craw molds & have never used any oil at all. I did try the paint thing, but it didn't work out to good for me so i just cleaned it off & went back to shooting them without any oil & have made a bunch of baits with them & haven't had any problems.
  9. I will also add that the stone molds i have i really don't have a problem with the finish. I just tried painting one of them because of skimpys video on here, but they work absolutely fine without painting too.

    Bobbin ?

Uh thanks guys, but incase you hadn't noticed this post was made in 2018. I bought a pretty big fly tying kit & made a bunch of crappie & floatnfly jigs last winter.
  11. dv616 thanks for the info. I tried the high temp engine enamel on one & it didn't work out to good. The paint just came off on the baits. I may give the kbs a try. Thanks.
  12. Thanks, I bought some rtv today.
  13. Apdriver, I actually got my old silicone little critter craw molds back & I want to modify them. What can I use to fill the gaps where the antenna are & the small back legs too? Is there a high temp putty? This is an experiment for a low action Ned rig craw. Thanks
  14. Is there a mold similar to the zoom little critter craw or strike king bitsy bug crawfish jig trailer? Thanks
  15. I know when i was trying to get a kietech style color look on a swimbait I put a tablespoon of koesher salt to 3 ounces plastc with just a skewer tip of blue to get it. Without the salt it wasn't happening with the colorant i had.
  16. I think i'll be trying one of fatguys molds myself the next time i order.
  17. I was going to say it looked like it had a lot of salt to me.

    Tube Jigs

jmb, welcome aboard. I'm sure somebody will be along that has the answer for you. I personally don't have any crappie lure molds, but have thought about getting a couple & trying some crappie fishing out this winter & next spring.
  19. btsmolds.com has a 4 cavity mold & a 2 cavity skirt mold with or without a center hole in the skirt. May be the best off the shelf option at a pretty good price. Baitjunkys.com or bob at cnc molds & stuff would be well worth checking out if you want a custom made to your specs.Josh at anglingai makes outstanding molds too.
  20. How does the body girth compare between the 3" & 3.5" Thanks guys.
  21. I thought about buying it & just adding enough color (other than the main body color) to give it a hue like black, blue, chartreuse, pink etc. I figured the baits could be cut & make a laminate with so i may try that too. How does the 3'' compare to the 3.5 as far as size goes. Most use 3.3 & 3.8 kietechs around here. I willl be fishing them in really clear water highland lakes if that makes a difference what size to get. Thanks
  22. Does this mold make good laminates? Thanks
  23. I'd try about 4 ounces & see if that's enough to inject it. Remember if doing 4 ounces you'll only get 3 or so ounces when you inject because there will be a plug of plastic that will not come out. On my microwave i put 3 to 4 ounces in for a minute & a half. Your may be totally different so i'd try a minute, stir & go from there. I put my colorant & glitter in the cold plastisol & heat it. After a little while you'll figure out how your microwave does & you'll be able to get really close to getting it ready to pour in one heating. I do have my recipies like Canga~ said, but i've never had much of a problem adding it in cold. When making new colors i work in small batches & add colorant or glitter as needed.
  24. Check to see if Curt has one at enforcer molds/ I have a couple of his single cavity 4 inchers & they work great.
