    Mine stays in my unheated garage all of the time & i have never had a single problem. Shake or stir it up good to get the pigment mixed up good where it has sat & separated & you'll be fine. I stir mine with a welding rod that i have removed the flux & wire brushed to get it clean. After this i shake it good to mix & it's fine.

    Yes they will.When i was first starting I called Leonard thinking i may have been over heating my baitjunkys plastic when the lureworks uv 193 i was using was turning a pretty nice red color & he assured me that when it cured it would be the color i wanted & it was.

    x 100. I have molds from basstackle, angling ai , enforcer, delmart, do -it, jacobs baits & others & thats why i bought them was because i liked the design of the individual lure that i would be getting from that particular mold. They all make top notch molds for sure.

    There really isn't much to it. You just need to experiment on your color recipies if you want lighter colored baits. I tried my normal recipies & the baits were really dark with the flat finish compared to a good smooth cnc aluminium mold. After lightening up on the color they were fine. I tried painting one like lots do the sand cast essential series that do-it sells, but it didn't wotk because the paint wouldn't adhere to them because of the hard nonpourous finish. No doubt the kbs clear coar would probably be a better option compared to the high temp engine paint that i tried. If you experiment with your recipies i personally think you'll come up with something that will work for you.

    I have a few artificial stone molds. The baits aren't shiny like a cnc alunimium molds. I just adjust color to lighten the normal recipies used in aluiminum & they make a pretty nice bait. As far as demold time i do the same time that i do on aluminium & have not have a problem. I had a few very specific baits that i wanted to be able to make & decided to try one. I then bought a few more after trying them. Don't get me wrong 90% of my molds are aluminium cnc molds from basstackle, enforcer, delmart, angling ai etc., but these work fine after you figure out the little learning curve of exactly what you want. I make a lot of craws & jig trailers with mine & they work great. They definitely suit me & my buddies for something we use a large amount of.

    Soft plastic colorant is what you want. Look up lureworks soft plastic colorant. That will give you an idea of what you’re looking for.

    I've used Del a few times the last 2 years & they shipped the next day every time.

    I keep my leftovers in folgers coffee cans & cut up unto small pieces when i'm going to use them. I melt it down some( about half) while being careful to not get it to hot & then put a cap full of heat stabilizer in it & then finish the heating & have no problems.

    I have the 4" double dipper & really like it. It's a great mold in my opinion. Like Canga said salt the tails & they look as good as anybody's.

    I scrape it with a wire brush cleaned welding rod & then shake it.

    As you can see i went back & editied my post. In all honesty i was a little aggravated when i wrote it. However I was expecting the same thing Leonard sold & in my opinion it's no comparison. I shot identical molds 1 basstackle baby brush hog in both baitjunkys & bait plastics medium hardness & an enforcer beaver style bait in each at the same time with a buddy & he immediately noticed the differences too. The baits made with bait plastics medium are softer, spongier( as in a hollow feeling bait), stretchier by far& gave off a lot of oil. Personally i like the baitjunkys (calhouns) that Leonard sold & i like Lureworks just as good as it, but in my opinion there's a lot of difference in the bait plastcs blend. If the hard is any comparison to the medium when it comes to firmness then i'm not going to like it either. Hopefully it isn't. I know lots will like it, but compared to what i'm use to it's a lot different. I'll use it until it's gone, but i'll have to think hard about reordering. Maybe i'm a stickler about it i don't know.

    One thing it is not is remotely close to what Leonard sold . It being advertised as baitjunkys blend you'd think it was the exact same thing & it definitely isn't. I'ts a lot softer & baits are very stretchy. The baits made with it also puts off a lot of oil. I don't like adding hardner, but feel i'll have to with this plastic. I bought they're 6 gallon deal with 4 gallons being medium which i thought was the best all around grade to make the majority of baits with & 2 gallons being hard to make tubes with. If the medium is any indication of firmness compared to the hard then it will be way to soft for me. I'm sure lot of folks will really like it, but i'm not very impressed with it for my personal use so far. This is just my personal opinion, but calling it baitjunkys blend is misleading because there's no comparison in my eyes. I'll use it until it's gone, but If i'd known it wasn't the exact same i wouldn't have ordered it . The price is great though.

    Mark, i finally got to try the  bait plastics  medium baitjunkys blend plastic. One thing's for sure it's nothing like Leonard sold. The colors made with it really look nice, but it's definitely softer & puts off a lot of oil from what i can tell. The baits are also stretchy. Beavers & other creatures it may be alright on, but time will tell if i like it or not. I don't think i'm going to though. :yay:

      Thanks for getting back to me.

      I think it's softer, too.  As you said, it works fine for creature baits and jig trailers, both of which I have poured.  And probably for senkos and worms, which I haven't poured yet, but I think it's too soft for the swimbaits  I like to pour.  I tried some 5" skinny dippers, and they are soft.  I am going to bite off the head and use them as swimjig trailer, so it probably won't matter that much, but I am worried about trying it in my ES Ripper mold.  That bait really needs a med. plastic, not a soft.

      I was going to pour some Rippers, so I tried adding a heaping tablespoon of hardener to a cup of the plastic, and it bubbled up and was useless.  Plus it yellowed.  Either it was too much hardener, or I stirred it too much,  I don't really know.  

      The next batch I pour I'll try adding only a tsp. of hardener, and more heat stabilizer.  I really want it to work, but I don't want to be a plastics chemist.  It's hard enough to just pour the damn baits.  Hahaha

    A fellow on bass boat central is tracing the uncle josh trailers out onto a piece leather then cutting them out & dying them & says they work great. Just another option.
