  1. I keep a gallon of worm oil on hand for this & packaging of baits too.I also keep a seperate bottle with a yorker style cap with worm oil from the gallon jug that i use just for oiling the injector because there will be small peices of plastic & flake come out sometimes after oiling. When my injector starts to tighten up i pop the end off & pour some down it with the piston pulled down about an inch & pull plunger all the way to where it would be when full of plastic & then reinstall end & squirt it back into the bottle. Works great.
  2. Joel, as long as it works it’s good. A mans got to do what he’s got to do that’s affordable to enjoy his hobby
  3. I have the 4 incher from basstackle & really like it. I also have a 6" hand pour brush hog mold i could possibly be persuaded to part ways with. lol
  4. How about some pics of this? At that speed i could stand to have one for my own use too.
  5. I've tried a couple others to see how they compared & in my opinion nothing else is remotely close. Lurework period for me.
  6. Strike king & many others have also had the mistake pattern paint job on different crankbaits over the years & smallmouth like it.
  7. I pour in my pole style garage all the time. I made a work bench 8' long & have my microwave, colorant, salt etc on it. I have my molds (over 20) in a cheap Lowes chest type tool box with pliers, parts for making a rigs & other miscellanious items in other drawers under the bench. I also have my left over sprue in coffee & creamer cans that have the colors written in permanent marker under the bench & have plenty of room. I have nails with very small heads nailed into the posts & purling boards & hang all of my plastics on them sticking the still connected sprue on them so they'll hang straight & have no problems whatsoever doing it the way i do. When i cut tube tails i just sit my press on the workbench & have at it. I've done 20 gallon of plastic in the last year & it has worked great for me. One thing i'm thinking i'm going to do is if i can find some used counter top that someone has torn out & use it to make another bench completely down another wall so i can also possibly get into rod building too. Very little room is needed for this hobby, but a man can always use more too. lol As far as a learning curve you'll get it down pretty quickly & don't hesitate to ask for help as there are some great folks here that know their stuff & will walk you through anything that comes up. Welcome aboard.
  8. It’s the block, but. I made it heavy duty. Drilled into side of cutter block &. attached to shaft with set screws. Works. good. Theirs is high & flimsy in my book. That’s the reason I modeled mine after theirs, but a way more beefed up version. I’ve cut a bunch on it & replaced the blades once.
  9. Joel heres mine made ftom scrap.
  10. No experience with the 156 mold, but basstackle is good to deal with & they have great molds. See if they'll send you some samples of baits made with that mold.
  11. Baitjunkys & lureworks are both good stuff. I also tried a couple different samples that polysol sent me & i liked them awful well too. I wouldn't hesitate ordering from any of the three. Baitjunkys ain't gonna be beat on price though & if you have any questions Leonard is gonna answer. I know this for a fact. lol.
  12. I think Angling archer is posting a pic to help us see it to be able to help figure it out for you.
  13. I believe the lureworks gourd 172 could be tweaked a little if needed to get it & may not need to tweak it at all.
  14. Welcome aboard. A very small drop of amber, brown or even yellow may do it depending on the shade you prefer. Post a pic of the color needed as it will give us a better idea of what you're after.
  15. I have 3 molds ordered myself after buying several molds to find something extremely close that worked like these baits do as far as action goes & was totally unsuccessfull. These particular ones are the only style of these baits myself & several buddys use. After reading several pages of reviews from their previous customers i took a chance. Guess i'll form my own opinion after this deal is done as to wether it was worth it or not after recieving them.
  16. I love my 6 oz. basstackle, but i'm gonna buy a 9 oz. too.
  17. Welcome aboard. There are plenty of great lure makers that will help with any questions you may have.
  18. A 3 ouncer should work out aliright for you. I have a Basstackle 6 ouncer & i'm thinking i'm gonna pick up a 3 ouncer for smaller pours. I saw a 9 ouncer somewhere that i may pick up too just to be able to shoot more molds at a time of my favorite baits when i want to make a bunch up at once. .I shoot 2 or 3 molds at once most times, but you have to remember what combo of which ones work. or you'll come up short. The 9 ouncer would eliminate this altogether.
  19. Enforcer molds has some nice smaller tube molds. I have 10 I think it is of his molds & all have been great. Angling ai have great tube molds too.
  20. Hope everybody has a great one.
  21. I have 18 molds so far & 9 of them are Curts. He does great work & definitley has top notch service & his molds make excellent baits too.
