  1. Welcome aboard. You're right there are some top notch bait makers here that are more than glad to help with any problems we may have & do so daily. It's a great site. Enjoy
  2. I was gonna say beetle spin. Then I remembered the sassy shad & the shimmy shad too. Lol Been a long time since I saw any of those.
  3. Yep me too. I couldn't make an order so I wouldn't have been able to spend yet more of my money on an expensive hobby like that without it. Lol
  4. It's a separate browser through my spyware program that's supposed to be safe.
  5. Mark, thanks. I had to open it in avast safe zone.
  6. Thnks Mark, i'll try that.
  7. Can't get on spikeits website pn my computer, but phone will. Any suggestions? Thanks
  8. How would Lurecraft's red red work? Thanks
  9. What colorant would be best to make this color? Thanks
  10. Burke, sorry. I have been extremely busy & forgot all about it.
  11. The thicker plastic will be darker& the tails will be lighter because if thinness. Try this if you have the colorant for it.12 to 15 drops junebug 125,. A few drops( probably 6 or so)black grape& 1 drop violet 193. To 3.75 ounces plastic. Regular junebug red ( without the fluorescent purplish look) was junebug 125 colorant with1/4tsp.green & 1/ 8 tsp. red glitter. If you want more red make it 1/4 tsp. I believe the junebug 125, black grape & violet 193 will suit you depending on how many drops black grape you use. It will have the red tint until cured. Been there done that & I was torn up about it until the guys here told me it would do that. Lol
  12. Try junebug 125, pthalo blue & add a drop of violet 193 in about 3.75 ounces. It will have s red tint until it curedthen should be extremely close to matching zooms color. I actually matched it to a tee, but forgot to write it down & this is the only time I have forgot. I'll try it again when I have the chance & will write it down next time.
  13. Thanks guys. I was given some & thought if it worked pretty good I'd use it for that.
  14. Would it be good to make copy's of jig trailers that have very thin tails to hand pour if the putty is poured thick? Thanks
  15. I used pthalo blue colorant & silver glitter & got very close. I'll look it up when I get home from work this evening if I can remember too. Pretty easy color to do.
  16. I like baitjunkys & spikeit. There are several others as well like lurecraft, do-it, chemonics, m-f, Polysol etc. I've had good luck with spikeit & baitjunkys both & Leonard at baitjunkys has the best price on 5 gallons batches too. If you're serious about pouring I'd for sure get atleast a five gallon batch because if not you'll be ordering again pretty quickly. I know I did & most of us here have too. There are also some top notch pourers here that can answer about any question you have about all things plastic.
  17. I also have the solid tube mold from enforcer & it gets bit easy enough & doesn't cause line twist. I also have rods I made to hand dip them too. I've never saw a tube mold at baitjunkys & when I asked about one Leonard never said he had one either. If they do I'll buy one from him when ready for another.
  18. I have an angling ai injection 4" double dipper tube mold & it is an excellent mold. You have to cut the tails by hand, but i made a beefed up version of lurecrafts press & attached their deluxe plastic cutter to it to make it easier on my shoulder. As far as the mold goes it is top notch. I have to let it cool every now & then because i get on a roll & get it hot sometimes. lol I ordered an extra set of rods for it & you can actually roll them out pretty quickly, but i think i'm going to order 3 more sets for a total of 25 so i can put out more in a relatively short time. I have been injecting tubes in the colors i want the tails to be & then hand dipping for 2 color tubes too & they come out good as well dipping them to the line the mold leaves. Heres a couple pics. The first one injected & then hand dipped & the second is straight out of the mold & the tails are cut with my press.
  19. Yep. I was gonna learn the same lesson & thankfully the folks here had already warned about it. Thats the great thing about tackleunderground: someone here has already been there done that & they are very willing to share the knowledge they gain with the experiences both good or bad.
  20. If not remelted immediatley in the same pouring session & been in my old folgers coffee cans for a while under the bench I add heat stabilizer & haven't had a problem & the microwave is all i use for both injection & hand pouring. I just use the cap off of the pint bottle of stabilizer to measure & works well for me & colors stay true & i have kept some first pours out of fresh plastic to make sure they match the remelts & been good so far. May be lucky i don't know, but it works for me.
  21. Can you say spikeit dye for myself? Lol
  22. Tried my hand at making a two color tubes for a buddy of mine. It's alright, but also a lot of work too.
  23. Looks good .I've wondered about something along the lines of the zoom swimmin chunk trailer for my personal use. Wouldn't have to be exact, but good thin twisty tails would be the imporntant part to me
