  1. Could a person not use a skewer or tooth pick head of green pumpkin or amber mixed in with a small amount of green to make this?
  2. Watermelon red tube minus the tails being cut yet. This is the angling ai 4" taper tube mold. 3.75 ounces plastic, 1 drop lurecraft watermelon, 1/8 tsp black .040 & 1/4 tsp. 040 fire red glitters..
  3. I added glitter & quickly stirred after heating my plastic with colorant in it & it is craft glitter from Walmart. I don't use much of it, but I haven't had any problems when doing it that way either. Adding before heat can be another story on some of it as I have started with red & it was gold when done. Lol
  4. Yep I've bought 4 & had each in less than a week.
  5. Built from scrap from scratch. Looked at pic of lurecraft & went from there.
  6. Yep ut's very addicting & also fun. One thing about this site is that you can get some great help from some outstanding pouters that flat know their stuff. Welcome aboard.
  7. Modeled it after Lurecraft's press. The baits & the press. I think it worked out pretty good& the press was free.
  8. I've never had to use heat stabilizer in baitjunkys plastic. I use medium degassed & it's some good stuff for sure. I do have an unopened pint bottle of it though lol & luckily haven't had to use it so far.
  9. I've used several gallons of medium pourasol heating it in the microwave when i was a complete greenhorn & never had a problem whatsoever. I thought it was very good plastic myself. I like it & baitjunkys plastic both.
  10. Hopefully thing get better for him& he ships our molds. Health & family comes first so hope thing work out for him.
  11. I really like baitjunkys & they claim it is calhouns. It is some good stuff for sure.I haven't had any hardpack or any other problems with it whatsoever.
  12. I may be wrong, but I thought Leonard at baitjunkys did.
  13. You need to be easy when shaking plastisol. To hard & to much can definitley cause bubbles in it. Been there done that. These guys will help you figure it out for sure.
  14. By the mold for you most used lure. Get colorant, glitter & plastisol & Pyrex cups & have at it. True is can be an expensive, but it's a very addictive & rewarding hobby. Spikeit outdoors, lurecraft, baitjunkys.com are all good to deal with molds glitter & colorant & there are plenty more. Actually there is a sticky at the top of the soft plastics page for you to look through too.
  15. will it be tougher, softer or about the same? Thanks
  16. A buddy gave me a gallon of MF regular. How will it be compared to baitjunkys medium ? Thanks
  17. I finally figured the turning red issues out with spikeits violet 193 colorant. I stayed with the same exact recipie which was 6 drops in 4 ounces of plastic. Then heated for 1 minute & stirred then heated for 15 seconds & stirring & then heating another 15 seconds & stirring again, but then after thinking about it being heat sensitive like some of you all said i threw it in very cold ice water as soon as i took it out of the mold. Within 2 minutes i saw a huge difference with way less of a red tint. I hung the baits up in my unheated garage & in a couple of hours when i looked at them again they looked completely normal with a good dark body which let the glitter look exactly like it does with every other color i make & the appendages have a kind of ultraviolet purple look i was wanting.I actually thought about trashing this colorant because it was driving me out of my mind lol , but i was bound & determined to do everything i could to figure it out & glad i did. Thanks guys for all the help & suggestions. I appreciate it.
  18. Mcluvin, thanks & I'll try that. I have heated plastic & added colorant & glitter afterwords. This is 6 drops in 4 ounces so I'll try 4 to see if it helps.I'll try about a match head ofblack or blue as I still want the violet look in the tails. The bronzing has to be it because like I said this has been the only colorant period that has done this & I've made some very off the wall colors for buddy's using all of the basic colors & with the colorants like all variations of purple, junebug, reds, blue, blacks, greens whites etc and none have done anything remotely like this. Oh well back to the old mixing bench. Lol. Thanks
  19. Digital thermometer said 340. If I'm over heating why doesn't the glitter curl in any other colors I make? Just doesn't make sense to me that I can shorten heat cycles & stir more often & it turns red. I honestly don't think I'm doing any thing wrong. I know if I can't get it figured out I'll thrash it as it's the only one I've had any problem whatsoever with including black grape & junebug 125. Just makes no sense to me. Thanks guys.
  20. I have the junebug 125 & it's perfect life every other color every time.
  21. Mark, may not be showing up good in pic. It is a chocolateish red instead of a violet look. Frank tried it & said it turned on him at 380. I never got close to that today when I tried it. It did get to 340 though. If I use more colorant it get very red. I've tried colorant after heating & it still happens. It will be red tinted when taking out of mold even on the first shot & it gets worse as I shout more. I'm honestly wondering if this bottle has something wrong with it as nothing I do stops it whatsoever.
  22. Made with 4 ounces plastic,6 drops spikeit violet 193. Heat forb1 minute & stir them 15 seconds & stir & then 15 seconds & stir. No matter how I do it this colorant always turns red like this. I've tried several different heat cycles & always the same. Sometimes way worse. I'm wondering if something is wrong with it as nothing else does this whatsoever using the same exact cycle & this is red tinted in 1 minute. Thanks
