  1. You're telling me. The bank account & the wife both probably will before it's over. Lol
  2. Just bought my second 5 gallon of plastic & my third injection mold this month. Needless to say I'm hooked . Lol
  3. I don't know why it works, but red flake on bright moonlight nights here will get you bit by a smallmouth. Junebug red, green pumpkin red or black red Colorado blade spinnerbait will get thumped by them. Sometimes the largemouth too, but not nearly as much as smallmouth.
  4. What if left in unheated garage? Will it hurt it? Thanks
  5. Monte SS, looks like i have a few more things to buy. lol Frank, i gave it a few more seconds than needed i guess & indeed get it hot. I shot close to 100 brush hogs today & never had an issue. Thanks guys for all the help. I appreciate it
  6. Think I either got the plastic to hot or the mold one. I'm gonna try it after I get home today since the mold will be cool. Thanks
  7. Apdriver so far i've tried up to a tablespoon in 3 ounces of cold medium pourasol from spike it.
  8. Thanks I'm adding before heating, but still not getting the cloudy look. Now all of a sudden I'm getting major flashing & plastic squirting out the end(2 cavities) of the mold & it's never done it before. It's the basstackle 4 inch by flippin hog mold. Pladtic to hot now? Any ideas? Thanks
  9. Trying to get the cloudy look in my junebug baby brush hogs. When do I need to add salt ? Before or after heating? Thanks
  10. Mark, I'm only adding it when packaging.
  11. Mark, thanks.I'm just using worm oil. I may add scent, but i'm not right now & don't plan on using stabilizer unless it becomes a necessity as i'm trying to keep it very simple or my little pea brain could very well go on overload. lol
  12. Couldn't agree more. They have definitley been the most helpful folks a person could ask to deal with when getting started for a complete novice like me. There is one more site i ask questions on & they are extremely helpful as well & a newbe needs all the help he can get for sure. lol Thanks guys
  13. Apdriver, i'm using spikeits medium pourasol for the plastic & no salt. I will however be getting some salt to try to milk the color a bit so i'll see if that helps. Thanks guys.
  14. I'm just getting started, but i have screws ran into posts in my pole style garage & i'm sticking the sprue still attached to the baits over the head of the screw when i demold & letting them hang like this. They're staying straight & if i don't need more of a certain color in boat for say a month or so they will cure until then. Then i put them in the bag & add some worm oil. It seems to be working well. I have sold a few, but i still want them cured for a week if possible & haven't had anyone complain yet.
  15. The only difference i see when holding mine under florescent light beside a zoom is that mine doesn't have the clouded look using violet 193 at 8 drops for three ounces& one drop of pthalo blue. I'll definitley be picking up some salt. By the way my buddy very, very rarely can hang with me using plastics, but he actually beat me pretty good lastnight using one of my junebug 4 inch shz del-mart hogs & me using zooms junebug superhog for comparison. He got a lot more bites than me wether he was up front or in the back of the boat using the same line & weight & rod action. Needless to say he thinks i'm the man when it comes to making baits now instead of turning into a mad scientist like he thought i was. lol Thanks guys.
  16. What could be causing my baits to slide down or not cling to the hook a lot more than a lot of the big brand names? Specifically zoom baits. I noticed it lastnight on some that a member on another forum sent me. The ones that i shot on my own don't seem to grip as well as the big name brand, but were staying in position a lot better than his were. Both mine & his were from identical molds from the same mold maker. I'm not using salt either if that makes a difference & using spike it medium plastic. Thanks
  17. Thanks. I am using violet 193. I can get the color extremely close, but just want the clouded look so I'm going to get some salt. I think I'm the only one that notices that it doesn't have the cloudy look. Everyone elsereally likes them, but until I nail this particular color I won 't be satisfied. It's already caught several fish & fishermen too for me. Lol
  18. Frank thanks. I think I'll get some to try. How much per ounce on average would be close? Thanks
  19. I'm trying to match it & am getting extremely close, but not getting the cloudy look. Using spike it violet 193 & even added a drop of spike it pthalo blue. Using spike it medium plastic & no salt. Would salt be needed to achieve the clouded look? Thanks
  20. 6 1 smallmouth on one if my plastics Friday night. Itvwas on the delmart 4" shz.
  21. At night here all i throw all summer as far as creature baits are concerned are junebug, junebug red, green pumpkin & green pumpkin red. Worms would be a 10 inch black blue saphire tail worm like the brekley power worm. Spinnerbaits are black blue & black red when slow rolling is in order.Jigs black blue, junebug red, cumberland craw or brown orange. Needless to say i have more than enough of everything made up. lol I just couldn't stand it after i made my jigs & spinnerbaits i had to start making my own plastics too. It by far is my favorite of all to do. Way more addictive than making jigs or spinnerbaits in my opinion.
  22. I really like my basstackle mold. The bt flippin hog shoots we'll & produces a very nice baby brush hog.
  23. Just order 2.5 more gallon & some colorant. Almost used the 2.5 gallon i recieved weekend before last. Needless to say this bait pouring thing is addictive. lol
