  1. I'd oil it about every 3 to 4 shots. I do mine as soon as i start to feel it tighten up & it's still on the original o rings after years of heavy use. I use worm oil on mine but some use pam cooking spray.
  2. I inject that mold at a decent speed & hold pressure for about 5 seconds, top of sprue & wait 3 minutes to demold then throw in water. The only time i've had denting with it was when i got the temp a little to hot.
  3. Looks like a heavy dose of micro gold flake in an orange base for the bottom & what tiderunner said on top. Could also be orange with some red colorant added too sort of a tomatoish color.
  4. I use medium plastic 99% of the time but when i make tubes i add some hard to the medium. Usually shoot in 4 ounce batches so i do 2 ounces medium to two ounces hard & it makes great tubes. I'm thinking my baby shad style baits i may try a hard body & medium tail to see if i like the way they hold up. If not back to full medium. Why not get some soft plastic & add medium or hard to it if they're to soft to suit you & you don't have to add hardner?
  5. They say the injector that jacobs mold & machine is a good one too.
  6. That's temperature related. You have to shoot it pretty quick or any plastisol will set up in the injector.
  7. Yep i have to let my aluminum cnc molds cool when i get on a roll & make a bunch of baits in a hurry. I have put half of another mold on each side of the mold i was injecting. If injecting several i will put a half on each side of them all & clamp down tight. It's enough of a heat sync that i haven't had any problems like this.
  8. What about a piece of aluminum or board or something like that on each side of the mold tightened down in a vise?
  9. Message the maker you got it from & ask what size orings they use in it.
  10. I had one made by authentic hand made from The Ukraine & it was bad to expand & contract when using. I made notches in the tip to be able to remove it with a screw driver & asked him what size Orings he used & then replaced them with a better grade Oring & it worked fine as long as you oiled it about every shot which was way to aggravating for me so i ended up selling it to another member after doing some trading with Frank on here for a basstackle dual injector. As long as i'm making plastics it will be basstackle injectors for me.
  11. I know folks do put mica powder on some plastics & then clear coat them with clear plastisol. I'd try one to see but if it works & you do remelt you know you'll completely change the original color. That is if the air brush paint is capable of being melted down.
  12. Don't feel bad Al i see a light greyish smoke color & absolutely no sign of a tan.
  13. Great info. I've been wanting to get a printer & make my own molds but haven't yet. You gave some very good info for sure. Please come back & share more info & pics of your results. Thanks
  14. I saw a couple of his molds that i liked too.
  15. Man you all have sure had it awful with the unbelievably bad drought & now the torrential rains lately. Stay safe Mark.
  16. Maybe a move to Mexico may stop the raining you're wanting & definitely needing Mark.
  17. Good deal. Every experience i've had dealing with them was excellent. They'll go above & beyond to make their customers happy.
  18. You could try some aircraft stripper to try to clean it. I did this after painting some do-it essential series molds after the paint didn't cure good. There literally was paint & aluminum laying on the ground where i rinsed them off. They molds came out shinier than when i bought them new so it will probably work good.
  19. I was told that zooms junebug was a mixture of red & blue only. Lureworks florida grape would be close i'd say but you can definitely make a good one with the black grape you have too. Zoom also has quite a bit of salt in them too which washes the color & keeps it from being transparent.
  20. Add a little more colorant to make it darker because the thin parts will be a lot lighter if they're thin enough because of light passing through.. Sorry just saw this & i'm in the house for the night & my recipe book is in the garage where i make my baits.
  21. Yes they usually get back with you in just a little while. I've called them & they called me back pretty quick. Must be something going on for them to not call back pretty quick.
  22. It's a great mold for sure but i personally like the basstackle bt flipping hog in better. The flappers fold up a little on the angling ai hog & i just don't care for it personally, but that's just a pet peeve i have just like. I also like the old delmart 4" shz mold which lurecraft now sales that's a super hog mold better than any mold on the market because i like the flappers & tails pretty robust & attached together because i never separate mine because i like the glide style fall myself. I want my beaver molds the same way. Just personal preference & not a knock on angling ai whatsoever because i've had several of their molds & they were all great but i'm a stickler when it comes to tails on these two molds. All the other angling ai molds i've had have suited me 100%.
