  1. I would just do a 4 ounce batch & see how many you get out of that & multiply it by 32. If selling baits i personally wouldn't figure remelting the sprue into it because that will be pure profit. Say you get 5 stick baits for every 4 oz. batch X 32 would be 160 baits divided into the cost of a gallon of plastic at 50.00 which is pretty high because it can be bought cheaper. That would be a little over 31 cents a piece plus cost of glitter softener etc. would get you around 40 cents per bait. This is just a rough estimate, but anyway you get the idea. Then the remelted sprue can be used to reduce your cost for those 160 baits you just made by seeing how many you can make out of it which in turn means more profit. You're probably going to get at a minimium another 40 out of the sprue which is atleast 200 baits per gallon & that drops the cost to 25 cents a piece leaving you at $6..25 per 25 pack.
  2. Yes they do. I traded a 4" heart throb hula grub mold for some crappie molds about a month ago only because i wasn't using it. It was like every other mold i have from Josh & it was outstanding. Ain't going wrong with angling ai for sure.
  3. I have a 5" single tale from Lurecraft & it shoots good & makes a grub with quite a bit of action too.
  4. Lurecrafts black grape is a nice color. I started making some big 11” junebug ribbon tail worms with it & they really look nice. Just use it & figure out how many drops per ounce it takes to suit you.
  5. I have a pint bottle with worm oil in it that i oil my injector with. I just remove tip & put a little in & replace tip then pull plunger back & stick tip into pint bottle & squirt back into it. Does a great job of lubricating. You can also take injector apart & put some on rag & drag through tube to clean. I also use the same oil in the pint bottle to add a few drops when bagging baits to lubricate them. After awhile there will be some pieces of different colored plastisol in it from lubricating after evacuating after leftover plastic after injecting & when i get a bunch in it i use all i can of it & then dump the rest in the trash. I buy worm oil by the gallon so a pint isn't much & i've used the same pint for a long time.
  6. Sorry i meant i used it for making skirts that i wanted to flare out when at rest which it did & had great movement.
  7. I've used the floatant material from baitplastics at a 25% ratio for skirts that i wanted to faler out when at rest & it worked great. I also used them in stick worms & they worked great. I did have to add more colorant because it bleaches out the color but that's easy enough to do.
  8. The green based one is 109 & it's a nice color too. Sometimes i add quite a bit of yellow to it & it works real good on a local lake i fish sometimes. Makes an almost glowing color.
  9. Is it not the 733 HD craw from basstacklke? Never mind i see that you found that it is.
  10. I made a bunch of 3/4 ounce night time spinnerbaits with the lurecraft heavy duty frames & put extra number 6 deep cup colorado blades on them & they worked great. Done good slow rolling & worked real good yoyoing them. The smallmouth eventually tore them up too buit it was fun while they were & caught some pigs on them too.
  11. I have a d i y heavy duty press fashioned after the lurecraft press & put a piece of 2x6 under it but think i'll give Leonards idea a try the next time i'm at walmart.
  12. Yep there's not a thing wrong with Ozark Trail baits. Just like any other brand of baits they all have some good ones & they all have some that may not be as good as the next but all brands have some that will catch fish. We use to use a bait that actually got us made fun of by some guys saying we were crappie fishing. Well guess what after winning 1st & big fish the next 6 times straight they didn't make so much fun of us again. I really enjoyed when they asked what we caught them on & laughing when telling them & they thought i was lying to them. A shame it wasn't a big name brand or color anybody thought would catch fish.
  13. I think it's the 4" double dipper that i have but it's definitely a top notch mold. It has 5 notched rods & if you use the top notch you can make tubes with a half inch solid head or put the rod in the lower notch & make standard hollow tubes. I've used mine a whole lot. Bob at cncmolds& things also makes a couple affordable tube molds too. Either mold whether Angling ai or bobs you'll have to cut the tails your self. That doesn't bother me a bit but it does some folks. I made a beefed up version somewhat based off of lurecrafts press using the deluxe tail splitter & it's simple. Just dip each tube in worm oil & give it a good solid press once or twice & you're ready to go. You won't have to worry about whichever mold you purchase. I only texas rig my tubes so i mix 50-50 medium to hard plastic & mine hold up well.
  14. What are those that crappie fish favorite molds to make your own lures?
  15. Great mold that has only been shot 3 times to make a total of 12 grubs. I will also consider trading for crappie lure molds since getting into livescoping them. Let me know what you've got.
  16. Also if you're making two different colors one will get hot way before the other if ones dark & ones a light color so keep that in mind which also means remelts usually act the same way too.
  17. It's a little different until it cures than what you're use to. To me it seems like it's a wetter plastic, but works great in my opinion. I've used lureworks & calhouns both & like bait plastics just as much after i got use to it & never notice it anymore. Never have a problem with heat yellowing it when remelting either. I'll use either of the 3 without question but haven't used anything besides baitplastics the last few years.
  18. Wasn't long after i started having to heat longer that mine quit.
  19. I'm a believer in scents at times & this proves it without a doubt.
  20. Salt & pepper, a sapphire blue like zooms , add it to junebug, redbug etc. . Heck you could add it to anything to make it just a tad different which at times could very well be the difference between hero & zero. You're only limited by your imagination.
