  1. I still have the first 5 gallon bucket of dead on plastic I bought 2 yrs ago. It does have to be vacuumed to be bubble free. That doesn’t bother me so much as the fact that it’s not a durable plastic on the hook. Funny no one had brought it up before. I use several brands of plastic depending on what I’m trying to accomplish. It is a weak plastic. There are definitely better plastics out there for less and more money.
  2. Ok so after a couple of weeks of using this stuff here’s the deal. 1- baits must be keep cool. I was told to keep in a cooler when I’m on the boat in the heat. 2- memory seems to be a known issue wth it I was told. 3- keeping them in bait bags they began to stick together and loose shape. This happened in my air conditioned shop. Not on my boat. So the take away is I will pass on this stuff again. I can’t stand being a beta tester or at least not at that price point. Very disappointing:-(
  3. Yes sticky goes away. However when they deform your ull have to repour them.
  4. Caught a few today. So far so good. Initial notes: 1-don’t leave the baits out in the sun. You end up with sticky baits. 2- not quite as stretchy as elaztech. 3-‘floats high like elaztech. all in all I’ll call it a win.
  5. So the plastic showed up yesterday and I got a few minutes today so I ran a small batch . I can say the colorant definitely works. It runs like plastisol however 400 degrees to kick but I was pouring at around 320 and I think I could go cooler. I’m fishing tomorrow so I will let the fish judge. I will say though this stuff is pretty pricey so there won’t be much experimenting with it.
  6. It is not cheap for sure. 119 for about 3/4 of a gallon. With that said I make for me and mine so it should last awhile. I have a couple of Ned and craw molds where I’m sure the stuff will shine . I’ll keep using plastisol for the rest. I’ve done well with the bass this year with a Ned bullet mold from bait junky’s in soft plastisol. I have also fished the Trd finesse baits. I broke my cardinal rule and bought some of the elaztech baits so I decided to give the flex a try.
  7. He said the same thing. I have pots so no biggie
  8. So Butch reached out to me today and let me know that the colorant we use now will work with it. I ordered some up so we will see.
  9. I would really like to try it ,but nowhere does it say on their site does it say anything much.
  10. Is anyone using it?How does colorant work. I know I have everything to make it. Just looking for input. Thanks
  11. I store mine in the throw away plastic containers for the grocery store .I don’t store in bags. I lay the baits flat the put a piece of card stock down for the next layer of baits. I can store 300-400 stick worms this way.
  12. The Ukrainian mold maker sells molds that are close. Bait molds .com. I have the 3.8 fat impact. It’s pretty close no hook slot but it doesn’t matter to me. The only thing I will say is that it takes forever to get a mold from them. Usually about a month to two. the color looks like a watermelon green to me.
  13. I got the email from them . I though it was pretty expensive. Not that I won’t spend money.lol. I was curious about colorant and using it in the bait making process. I don’t mind the learning process but at that price I don’t want to mess up much.
  14. I got sparkle violet .I use it for my version of electric minnow and I have to use a ton of it to get the effect
  15. Lurecraft and M and F , to name a few. Either of them should have what you need.
  16. I use m and f Chartreuse non-bleed for a summer-craw laminate I use a lot. It is a pretty opaque chartreuse, I have to use quite a bit to really get it to contrast well against a dark color.I agree with adding some white it should help . I went through a lot of brands before I settled on it for that reason.
  17. Chartreuse black flake is what i use m and f colorant .
  18. Only problem I have is it muddles the color like salt .
  19. I would start with a tablespoon maybe two in 4 ounces. That will make the claws float really high on a 702 craw mold
  20. I have always used worm salt. At the being I ground salt and it’s a pia which is why I stopped. To each their own:-) i will add this though, I add my salt to cold plastic and heat it all together. I’ve had great luck with it over the years . Mine does not clump at all . Which ever way you go good luck . Experimentation it’s part of the fun of this and keeps it interesting! p.s I keep a small bag of dry white rice in a perforated bag in my salt container it keeps the moisture at bay.
  21. A paddle mixer on a drill is best to mix.
  22. +1 on yellow, but not much it doesn’t take much. Also keep written track of what you make it will help in the long run.
  23. A pex stub out .... brilliant !!!
