  1. There are subtle differences in every ones stick molds. Do it is the original Gary Yamamoto Senko . Bass tackle stick is a little different dimensionally but catches fish Every bit as well.
  2. Nah ! Easy peazy . Start small that’s the trick. Before you know it you’ll have it down and then you can do laminates and triple laminates. Really is simple to do it’s just a lot to take in at once. Add to that your spending your hard earned cash you want the learning curve small so you don’t waste money. Bait making is fun to do and nothing is better than catching on something you made. Like I said before I’ve been making plastics for 8 years and I’m not stopping any tome soon.
  3. They are fine . It just takes forever to get a mold because of shipping for the Ukraine.I prefer bass tackle and angling a I . Bothe make top notch molds . No slight on do it but their original Senko mold likes to dent.I have one I should know. I preffer bass tackle 4 inch stick mold. I’ve made tons of them and they don’t dent unless your shooting at 350. I also have the 7 inch stick. You will also learn with molds that every design is different and each one likes a different temp range when you shot.
  4. Well they are all shiny under the water. Lol its all personal preference. Fish don’t know any difference.
  5. Looks good! Wait till you catch something on them. That’s an even better feeling
  6. The major difference is finish stone when finish have a dull finish. Aluminum on the other hand are shiny when finished.
  7. What I do is if I’m Trying to match a Senko for instants.I hold the bait up in light and look through the bait and match what I see.i don’t try to match it in my hand. The most important thing to remember is close counts. You don’t have to be exact. Unless your OCD and then yes it has to be exact! Lol!
  8. It’s where I’m at. My home lake is clear to stained depending on the time of year white green pumpkin albino watrrmelon blue flake watermelon seed watermelon no seed kudzo watermelon red flake all greens and whites work well where I fish black as well .
  9. Smallest 3 in fluke Jr style drop shot to a 12 inch worm and everything in between and 5 inch stick worms till the cows come home as long as it’s green pumpkin:-)
  10. I live on the Virginia coast . Our winters can be mild to horrible. Depending on the year I’ll bass fish. During the winter months I’ll usually fish the Chickahominy River which is tidal but it’s considered fresh water. Good bass fishing in the winter.i usually make runs of baits in the winter. I have a presto pot I use to make myself 350 to 500 stick worms for the next year. The smaller batches like a bag or four of what ever I will use a microwave. For stuff like laminate baits I’ll do it either way. I would wait on a laminate injector. You can pour 1/2 a mold and then inject other 1/2. Get all you mechanics down and when your ready go for it. There’s a lot going on when doing lams.
  11. What helped me was to buy a couple of bags of what style of bait you want and try them out.when you find a winner then you find a mold. If fishing for bass I would highly recommend a Senko/stick bait style mold that’s the one that got me started. Im sure most folks here who bass fish would agree.
  12. I’ve got several molds from them of good quality so far. However don’t be in a rush for anything from them. They are a Ukrainian company so shipping takes forever but a reasonable price. This is not a cheap hobby unless you don’t go hog wild. it’s a fun and rewarding one though. I haven’t bought a bag of any Commercial baits in 8 years. As mentioned above get what molds you use the most. Small cavity count is the cheapest but will take forever to make a couple of bags .Same can be said about color and glitter as well. Smaller amounts is cheaper but you pay in the long run I have multiple small bottles of colorant but the ones I use the most I have quart bottles of because it’s cheaper in the long run. Start small if your not sure you’ll like it. There is allot of hidden cost like PPE and microwaves . Welcome back to the fray!
  13. M and f baby bass will get you pretty close.
  14. It’s a trade off at best . Less softner = more durable=‘stiffer .
  15. Bass tackle has what your looking for looks like zooms fluke/jr to me.
  16. My recipe as it stands 4 oz of plastic I use m and f super soft Your mileage may very. 1 table spoon salt 2 table spoons glass bead media 1 table spoon of softner formula makes a super soft stick. Durable? Nope! Do I care? Nope! good action? Yep! Hard thump when pulled on a wacky jig? Yep ! some will say different but this is what the fish told me they preffer down at my local watering hole.
  17. Sure! Amazon it’s where I get mine
  18. Shot cooler that should stop the denting. I would shoot it around 320 and knock another 10° off that if it still keeps Denting you’ll find the Sweet Spot.
  19. Walmart has them. That’s where I got mine .
  20. I shot them an email about the problem and they are sending me some hardner to see if that takes care of it . I’m not to hopefull. . I can’t fault dead on for the lack of quality in their plastic as they are resalers . They can only account for customer service and so far pretty good.
  21. I shot them an email and they are sending me a qt of hardener to see if it helps. I have the same plastic same problem.
  22. Oh yeah! Never had problems there.
