  1. I agree I’ve been at this about 6 yrs now and have found each “brand” type of plastic has its pros and cons . Baitjunkys(Calhoun’s ) medium which is a dry plastic is good tough plastic great for grubs and small swimbaits . Now if we go the stick bait route mnf gets used super soft which is prefect for me only draw back if you want to call it that it exudes oil over its life which I’m ok with. To each his own . There really is no wrong plastic it’s all about what your after. Polysol(dead on) is great for holding its color reheat after reheat, which may play into the equation like when using the very temperament color white
  2. This is a pre-made bai that started out as white . The pictures don’t do it any justice but it has a copper pearl to it but it was done with plastic coloant and clear for lureworks
  3. I also use the powder peals it’s really cool looking
  4. I usually pour or inject in white or pearl white
  5. Speaking of colors. If you have colorant for soft plastic worm making you can use the clear paint and colorant and make your own colors on the fly. I do this ALOT.
  6. Just make sure to tighten the lids good when your done.
  7. Keep any eye on temp And don’t use to much heat stabilizer and you should be good to go . And shipping is an SOB no matter where you go I only make for me and my friend but I still order it 5 gallons at a time it’s the cheapest way to get it unless you’re mass producing and then that’s different . I’m sure you will be happy with it
  8. I usually hang mine but to each his own.that works too but you will need to lay them flat to cure. You would be amazed if you cut a thick bait that’s been curing for 5 days you will find the inside of the bait is still tacky
  9. I don’t know about “memory” but I can say this the baits need to cure before you bag them1-2 weeks. I’ve got some swim baits that I made last year nows the time to use them so I pulled them off my shelf and they are straight. I am usually 3 months ahead on what I use so they get the full cure. But it also depends on what brand of plastic used as to how long they need to cure
  10. I have their hollow swim bait mold I’ll take a look thanks
  11. I’m looking for a smaller one like the fluke Jr for a drop shot rig I’ve got the doit molds to big.:-( But thanks just the same
  12. I’ve been using the same Bears injector for about3-4 years now. It is scratched but does not jam . With that said what kind you use I’m sure plays into it. The stuff I have came from harbour freight.
  13. This is my first mold from him just so happens I caught it on sale over the holiday so I don’t know much about his work . But I’ve heard about them and nobody seems to have any problems with his work so I doubt I will either. They are pricey at full price but what mold we shoot is cheap lol. But cavity counts not cheap. It’s a shame they don’t make a smaller cavity count ijust shoot for me so..... I’m sure I won’t be disappointed . I’ve heard they are really close to a gyb spider grub which is what I’ve been fishing for years with great success.
  14. I have to take a look at that I’m waiting on my heartthrob grab from him
  15. Thank you sir I’ll take a look so hoping to get the split tail but that’s OK
  16. Can some one tell me if there is a mold similar to the zoom fluke Jr on the market Thanks as always!
  17. I’ve used m and f, bait junky’s , lurecraft which are all good in there own right although I don’t think bait junky’s is selling plastic anymore :-( which sucks they have great service . M and f is my choice now for super soft plastic great stuff . However hook holding? Not so much but I use it to make stick baits and hook holding is not priority to me action is paramount in that case. Lurecrafts plastic is pretty durable . Good for jig trailers and flukes. Plastic is like opinions , everyone has there own and no one is 100% right 100% of the time . Try them all! Tight lines
  18. Safest way I know is to use them is to 1- wear a Respirator When mixing in to plastic 2- make sure there is no cross breeze or anything like that it takes nothing to get them airborne 3- use them under a vent hood Number one being the biggest
  19. As monte said it will scratch but it will be ok . I’ve been using glass mead for about 3 yrs now with the same injector it’s scratched yes but still works just fine.
  20. Never tried in softner . The only problem I could for see is the balloons are going to want to float on top of softnerlike they do when you heat them up in plastic. To be honest with you when I use them I’ll put them right under my vent hood and wear a respirator just in case if you’re very careful with them you should be ok. I have never had a problem but I have a large vent capable of moving a lot of air.it will pull the air out of my bait shop in a couple of minutes. So I don’t worry so much about it getting air born. Ps anything you can do to limit your exposure to it is a good thing.
  21. Smoke/black over white light green pumpkin over white white with pearl white in it
  22. To make things easy and to keep your head from spinning 4 oz soft plastic 2 tablespoons of salt this will get you started as stated before you can use glass or salt . Me I use a mix of both with a teaspoon of softner and I go 3 tablespoons of salt/glass mix but I like my sticks soft and heavy .
