  1. I do use scent. I always add to the plastic before pouring.
  2. Thanks to all. I was fishing in 100+ degree temps for a week at Lake Mead. I just thing the problem was the very high heat and the fact that some of the baits slid in the bags and molded themselves in that shape. I always lay my newly poured baits on cookie sheets for a week before bagging.
  3. When I use MF regular plastic for my injected thin and regular stick baits I noticed that if they bend at all in the bags they will retain that shape. We all know that stick baits aren't as effective unless they are straight. There is plenty of salt in each bait also. Is there a "memory" plastic that anyone uses that will eliminate this? For example Senkos don't do this and neither does Zoom products. Thanks
  4. ANISE! I have used in my plastics for 18 years and it has been a solid producer compared to other scents I have experimented with on the same baits and same colors. If I was to choose another scent it would be coffee as it has produced good results too but not as much as Anise. I add anise to my hot plastic while pouring. I use about a 1/4 teaspoon per 12 ounces of plastic. As far as vegetable oil is concerned it not only makes the plastics hard but will also will shrink the bait size about 20% over time.
  5. This bait was poured from a Lee pot. I have been pouring baits for years using these pots and yes they are tricky to say the least. You can purchase pots with small holes in the spouts and purchase pots with the regular hole size too. You can make very thin veins using the small hole pot as shown in this 4-inch bait.
  6. Cooking it in the plastic works just fine. The scent lasts a long time.
  7. Hi. What is the size of the glitter. If it is .035 or .062 it will curl for sure over 350 deg. Try adding a heat stabilizer to your plastic. Good luck.
