    Paint...

I have also had good results using testors acrylic and standard model paint but I am still learning spax sticks also does a good job and the colors are great with little to no thinning but requires a good mask because the fumes will be strong even with good ventilation but it is costly I planned on doing some cranks tonight but I think I threw away abt 25 while cleaning up so I'm up late ordering more good luck
  2. I'm having problems signing in to the site with my tablet can sign in with my phone fine but it won't sign in with my other devices any ideas thanks
  3. Didn't find the thickness of the stretch chrome film on their site but I have a friend who has a business doing wraps and trophys I'm going to check with him and see what the average thickness is and who knows he might even have some scrap that I could get cheap or free that I can experiment with thanks for the info

    Uv Cured Epoxy

Thanks for the feedback I recently watched a video where Larry dallburg clear coated jerk baits with uv cured epoxy on an allumalite site it doesn't require rotating the bait as the finish is thinner but you can redip the bait for thicker finishes he didn't give a manufacturer name and I'm not familiar with the product but it looked promising I'm new to the site but I have read a lot of the back post and have seen solarez mentioned a lot I will have to check out the product if you guys recommend it I have used the Devon product a lot (wish I would have found this site before using the 5 min epoxy yellowed after awhile but I did get pretty quick at it) and I've used famawood but not a big fan I have heard of the dicknite product but haven't ordered any tried to order some graco moisture cure today but couldn't get the clear version so I'm looking for another vendor seems like there are mixed emotions on mc because of the storage issues I think they were using a tanning bed to cure the uv for speed not required thanks again for the info I will let everyone know if I experiment with it once I figure out which one to try

    Uv Cured Epoxy

Has anyone used uv cured epoxy (with all the experience here I'm sure you have) and where can I find it and what do you suggest to cute it with other than a tanning bed just a small uv lamp always appreciate help didn't get results from the search of old posts thanks
  6. Not a life member but have subscribed to Bassmaster ant bass times for years now I think the mag has gotten better since Espn sold it but just my opinion have been a subscriber to bass angler for a few years now and it has become my favorite not as many advertisement and more informative tried the in fisherman mag for awhile but the multispecies aspect just doesn't appeal to me and the Bassn mag just seems poorly written even after it sold to the new owner can't remember his name
  7. Northrivergeek the stretch chrome film looks promising the three part process looks expensive May be to complicated for a tinkerer like me but thanks for the suggestion have you tried either of these processes
  8. Thanks for the feedback the spax stick is expensive around 13dollars for a small bottle can't remeber how many ounces and the mirror chrome requires 3 bottles (black backer, mirror chrome, chrome clear coat) I can't remember if all were the same price but it still gets expensive when your experimenting with the process I haven't worked with it in awhile got frustrated and took a break I will check out the other links that were left thanks for the info haven't been doing any hard baits for the last year been playing around with jigs and umbrella rigs and trying to get a fluid bed built with an aquarium pump not really satisfied with the results may have to break down and buy one or airbrush for powder paint not sure which would be best
  9. Ok searched for mirror chrome finish on previous posts should have done this first but hadn't navigated the site before I read the comments about spax sticks which I have tried already on my on if you could take the bait body apart and work from the inside with the black backer it would be an easy mirror finish this is how the model cars are done I had ok results just by coating the lure with epoxy and shooting it with just the mirror chrome finish then the chrome clear coat has anyone tried the spax stick with good results any help would be greatly appreciated
  10. I am new to this site so bare with me if this is a topic that had been covered already but has anyone had any experience with chrome finishing a hard bait with an airbrush I have been trying with limited success
