    That looks great.very good job
  5. I've done it a few times but never 1000
  6. If the paint that is on the jigs is in good shape then just cover the weed gaurd with heat shrink or some kind of masking airbrush the colors you want then clear with epoxy rotate until epoxy is set start with a base coat of white painted over the existing color, time consuming but doable
  7. What about superglue the smell dissipates pretty quick and it dries fast use the thin superglue and the wood soaks it up pretty well
  8. Great job my first attempts were not near that good. You do know hobby building is kind of like a addiction to anything else they all drain your bank account. Have fun
  9. I guess when I decide to order I will try the kbs I've held off ordering dn because of the storage issues everyone talks about. Do you still need bloxogyn with the kbs product
  10. What exactly are you referring to by(KBS) I haven't tried DN either but have been thinking of ordering some so which is better or the most preferred?
  11. Good to hear. Toothpicks are much cheaper than an airbrush
  12. I'll have to look into those blade stickers. I haven't painted many blades of any type to speak of so I do have alot of experimentation to do. I just wanted some black blades and all I have is silver so I decided to paint some. I haven't gotten my powder painting stuff out in awhile and completely forgot about the fluid bed I built a few years back I'll have to try it out on the blades l only really use it for crappie jigs and haven't tied any in awhile. I will have to play around with my heating time and weather to use my torch or heatgun maybe I can get better results from it. I need to pour some swim jigs soon and I plan to make some bladed jigs from some of these while winter is still hanging around. I just wanted to put these blades on some spinnerbait heads I've had poured for a few years now instead of buying new chatterbaits. Thanks for all the suggestions I guess I never really thought about painting blades until now just going to take some practice.
  13. Thanks guys I do it the way musky glen does I just haven't been dipping fast enough and getting to much paint on the blade I may have to try out the badger brush if I decide that the unpainted portion that my wire leaves is important enough for the investment. I was just wondering how everybody else did it and how much better of a system they had. Thanks again
  14. Could you guys tell me how you would powder paint a chatterbait type blade. I have done a few but haven't figured out how to hold the blade in the oven to cure without leaving a mark from hanging it with wire and I also get pooling of paint at the bottom when I hang it. I may just airbrush some but figured I would try this first. Thanks for any suggestions you can give.

    Quick Eye Mold

Started some but overheated the jewelry resin I was going to use because it is supposed to be less prone to air bubbles. I overheated one of the bottles and it melted and I wasted it. Oops did a trial will d2t but they were only decent definitely need to cover up the Lego emblem it showed in my eyes. Haven't been anywhere to get more of the resin I wanted to use and had forgotten about it until I saw the post again. The one thing I can say is that the eyes come out taller than I really want but would be usable on larger baits. I used some stick on eyes I had as for the back ground just pouring my epoxy then placing the stick on eyes over it then letting it cure. This can be tedious and you have to watch the spacing. I think I will try this again by making another mold using a slightly different shape maybe shape some dowel rods to embed in the quick putty at a different spacing/pattern before I do it again and get more of the jewellery resin

    Jig Making Help

McMaster Carr shipping can be very high in my opinion. Ordered a 12/12 1/32 piece of g10 garlite to make some crankbait bills last week part was6.47 shipping was $14 they didn't add shipping cost to the bill until after it had shipped just said applicable shipping would be applied guess that's their policy
  18. Thanks for the info cadman I'm not very educated when it comes to powder paint offerings I usually just pick up whatever is local as I don't pour a lot
  19. Edgecrusher that's what I was trying to ask. I picked up some of their paint a yr or so ago because I like the black chrome look I believe I got a blue and candy red also to play around with. I don't pour much only a few arkie jigs , a rigs , some sb and swim jigs for myself and friends nothing close to what you guys do but I believe I could get by with white, black, watermelon, and green pumpkin and do whatever I wanted really. The other colors are for looks in my opinion that's what people like it's got to catch their eye before it catches a fish this includes myself everybody liked pretty and flashy
  20. Good to hear it's working now sorry I missed your reply till now but glad it turned out good
